I use NameSilo and Godaddy and Already written out Godaddy. NameSillo is pretty good but their register and renewal prices are 9 usd. PorkBun seems to offer first 3 domains for $4.15 for the first year. Renewal price is $8.56 which is a really good price. I remember someone mentioning about them and I thought they are a reseller but no. Porkbun is an ICANN accredited domain registrar. So no need to be worried about vanishing suddenly.

Beware however, as the cost of renewal will be around $35. So if you want it for free, then you should know that you can only have it for a year for free. Also, they may ask you to register with a card. If you are interested you should read through the the small print very carefully. And if you only want it for a year, make sure to "untick" automatic renewal.
