Yup you read that correct! One of the most anticipated games of this year, Cyberpunk 2077 has finally gone gold!

 What does this mean?

It means that the developers are finally finished with the product, the "Gold" refers to a mastercopy from which all other copies are made, I think this news is really exciting! Mainly because this game has been notorious for delays, I really hope the game actually delivers the hype that CDPR started building all those years ago!
Okay so, I don't like to bump my own threads but there has been an important update regarding Cyberpunk 2077 and I figured I'd just reply here.

So despite the game going GOLD, CDPR yet delayed the game once more by as much as 21 days! I really don't understand what CDPR is doing and why they are sabotaging such a popular title. I really hope the game turns out to be really good considering how much bad repute the game has received recently in terms of delays..
This game has been delayed so often. Maybe the developers are too afraid to fail to deliver a product they promised and so many have (still are) hyped. The way they worded it the gold is live but they are working on many zero day fixes that will be released on the day of the release. Sadly many companies do this nowadays and sometimes the game release version is not even playable without the zero day update pack.

Here is their official statement by the way.

I read the news about the new delay on the game release. A lot of people are now complaining about it: someone just request a refund of the pre-order or threatening CD Projeckt on twitter.

I just wanna say that all the parts are on fault here:
1) CD Projeckt just announced and started the hype on a "far away finished" game, if they didn't aim so high maybe all this mess could be avoided
2) The gamer community is just toxic and doesn't deverse the game: the game just got delayed... what are they freaking out about? The programmers are working so hard to give them a great user experience but the gamer community wants EVERYTHING NOW AND BUGLESS.

This is so crazy... If I were CD Projeckt I would just put their opinion on the trash bin and continuing the prjeckt without this toxic community.

Moreover the developers have legit received death threats over the delays and have had to tweet that like everyone else they too are "human".

You're right I think CDPR was not able to anticipate such kind of issues but then again their excuse of 9 versions does seem valid too. Rockstar when releasing RDR2 or GTAV first release on consoles only and then do a pc port a year later that helps them manage it well. On the other hand, CDPR is releasing on new as well as old Gen hardware and also releasing on PC simultaneously so one can imagine the kind of stress their devs must be in.
It is funny because 2 Games' Twitter account did a meme about this. Check out the Pay Day 2 and Guild Wars Twitter!
This game is such a joke now, looking back it was funny that went gold. Recently it was reinstated back in the PlayStation Store, but I doubt many people want to still play it after all what happened. The updates are not doing much even, CD Project did but this on the backlog and not intending to fix it fully.
The game has more means than any other games. GOLD really is it stable or need some modding. Man, so hyped but so much disappointed in this game. But I think the GPU shortage making things worst.
