I use HDD
WD Blue 1TB 3.5inch desktop HDD one.
I'm planning to add an SSD but I'll do that once I get a better PC. (Maybe 2 for SSD caching lol)

My professor owns a Solid State Drive. I remember using his computer because mine broke a few months back. Even though we had the same model his computer booted extremely fast and it did not lag at all.

Well, I don't really expect the pricing of SSDs to be dropping significantly in the soon future. I can get an 128GB SSD for around 30, about $40 US. Brand new, performance around 500MB/s both reading and writing. Although the prices were a little higher a while back, when I bought my two SSDs (one in PC; one in NAS), it was just a decreasement of about 20% in 3 years.

Once the internet is fast enough. People will access files just like emails stored on Gmail server.

Is not the internet already fast enough to access everything with the speed of light? xD

I would suggest you buy SSD as your SYSTEM and HDD as your STORAGE.

Still using HDD for both my laptop and desktop. I have small 64GB SSD drive which I use for emergency cases.
