A simple bash script can be created for auto backups, and also to set a cronjob for it.
I wonder if there's any type of script available, however i might soon think of making it.

There are a lot of backup scripts available on Github.
Like this simple one: https://gist.github.com/wouterds/7734948
Just change the paths where you want to backup, and also set your ftp information. Then it should work.
