Yes, I know and I've tried it with Ubuntu 14.04 too, but I still don't like it.
I prefer to use LXDE or Mate because they are highly customizable and don't use as much resources.

I like to use LXDE but in the starting I used to use X2GO and VNC as I considered them to be more easier for use xd

I just love KDE Enviroment Blush .I like the many ways in which I can change the look of the KDE Plasma workspace. Sometimes I like to set colors and looks to suit my moods. Icons, widgets, fonts, pointers, the window decorations, and much more can also be changed, and I can download and install new ones if those already installed are not right for me. Window decorations define the look of the borders and buttons on the window frame. Widgets are the buttons, sliders, and general look of the applications within the windows. Color schemes and other styles can be saved and used later when my mood changes again.

Do you use a DE on VPS ? Does it help ? How do you access it ?

Pantheon by Elementary OS. Not only is the best looking imo, it's also very fast and light on my laptop. It's animations are so damn smooth too look at on any device.

both kde and gnome :d. i recently moved from gnome 3 to kde plasma, and i am how a happy camper. kde is awesome. i also love the kde applications (okular, kdevelop, kile, amarok, k3b, dolphin, gwenview, kdenlive etc.). and there is also kde connect, which allows me to access messages and notifications from my cell phone using my desktop and control my desktop from my phone. version 1.0 of kde connect will allow users to reply to sms messages from their computers. in short, kde is an excellent de. it is more complex than gnome 3 and not as easy to use
