Just click on a icon and then paste where you want to have it but on some sites they arent working.

Is there any benefit using our own icon fonts ? I mean, other than being able to include icons of our choice. It seems a lot of websites are offering to export our own icon fonts. I saw a few before as well.

It is better to compile own icons since you will never use all the icons provided by the fontawesome or any other premade set. This way, you load only what you need and speed up your webpage.
On the other hand, if you use fontawesome from some CDN, it will probably be cached to users browser and it will be fast to load.

Icon fonts can be a real hard hit on resource. Considering how many font packs are getting added to FA, it could be a resource hog than anything. Won't it be nicer to use svg files directly ?

@kubanek_kuba it depends on your preference bud, using icon fonts can be added by addons or script but quite sure about it.

Some icon fonts can be used as desktop fonts as well. FA allows us to do so. I am not very sure about other libraries.
