yeah I mostly use php7 for my things tho Is sad Linux has still not updated their repositories for php7 so I have to add private ones to use it. ( atleast not for 14.04 )

i really dont know the advantage of using php7 anyway so still use php5 on my web server

I like it but at first time when i installed it smf was not supporting it so i have to reinstall older version dont know about now its supports or not

I love PHP 7 its works great just updated few days ago and its works faster then older version in start i didnt used php7 because smf was not supporting php7

Just say that PHP 7 is making applications faster. Also, you can argue that it is safer to use PHP 7, considering it the latest version of PHP.

I haven't used it yet. In most servers still use PHP5 or less. At least in which I use. I guess it will take a while before PHP7 is used wildly for production level servers.

There are many performance upgrades made into this version of PHP, such as for example the act of serializing and storing arrays.

During the PHP5 days, people would choose a JSON format over serialize() due to speed: as show below.

It is just safe to assume that the latest version is the best. But, that saying, your software supports it. Most vendors has added support to PHP7.

Conclusion time

PHP 7.0 is mcuh newer version of PHP so PHP 7 get more stability , security and also speed improvement over the previous php version like 5.5 or 5.6 but the problem is that not all CMS support PHP 7.0 . i think it is because some command removed in php 7 or maybe the syntax is different like python 2 to python 3 there are some syntax that different

so if you want the best speed out of your server just user PHP 7.0 now no need to wait except if your cms isnt support php7 yet . but if your cms doesnt support php7 just stick with php5 or find an alternative cms if you really want php7 that bad

I am still using PHP 5.59. PHP 7 still has some bugs in it so I will not use it for some time D:
