RE: AMD or Intel? - meetdilip - 11-01-2016 What happened to AMD ? In India, I still hear people recommend Radeon for graphics and AMD for desktop and laptop. Is it different at the place you live ? RE: AMD or Intel? - hazeaj - 11-01-2016 I don't fanboy over a brand, and no one should. Look at your options unbiased, and choose the best available! RE: AMD or Intel? - meetdilip - 11-02-2016 AMD's business model kind of offers alternative to Intel processors, mainly. Some people distrust AMD for various reasons. Not sure whether all of them are valid or not. RE: AMD or Intel? - bakman12 - 01-05-2017 my brother had intel and amd based systems. he like them both. the intel rig did cost more when i built in 2009 with a q6600 overclocked to 3ghz. but the amd system with a 8320fx works great too. the only cpu he ever hated was the cyrix-ibm from the socket 7 era. the cyrix chip was a huge piece of turd there. poor fpu performance and it would run super hot. some boards hated it since it used unofficial fsb speeds or the voltage was not available on the motherboard. RE: AMD or Intel? - Sentinel - 01-05-2017 I recommend getting Intel over AMD because Intel has been here for a very long time compared to AMD. It also earned a lot of rewards and is more reputable too. RE: AMD or Intel? - rudra - 01-06-2017 I am waiting for the news that intel releasing a newline of processors without any backward compatibility and old instruction set baggage. Just raw power at it's best. I like both and they are good for us the customers. They keep each other in check or we hope so. Oh yes... I heard a rumor that they were planning to do something similar at around 2019. Yikes.. Just raw power at it's best. Power is important sometimes but it is important to consider the importance of backward compatibility :/ RE: AMD or Intel? - rudra - 02-01-2017 True that . But it has always been a stormy relationship between the two. Extreme focus to progress runs contest to security, stability, peace is mine etc etc etc. Most are not on with that. RE: AMD or Intel? - sagher - 02-02-2017 I love Intel Original more then any other. and Specially if you talk about Processor and Graphic cards. AMD is not a good choice for me or any other who live in HOT temperature Countries. because AMD have a big heating issues. and after heating speed goes down and down .... Intel works fine even high temperatures. RE: AMD or Intel? - meetdilip - 02-06-2017 Anyone know more about AMD Ryzen processors ? Is it out yet ? They seems to be making a lot of news. What's Intel equivalent to it ? |
