i dont think it is essential phone because it lacks one of the essential factor of a phone and that is a head phone jack
i really dont know why most phone company now days are removing head phone jack . are they following apple? if yes that is just stupid desciscion because not all what apple did is right
if im a phone manafacture i dont want to remove the headphone jack

I'm sure that they will be great phones but their prices I think too much for a stater company. They have no reputation yet.

They have proper background. Android founder is a great pedigree that Essential phones can rely on.
3.5 mm jacks makes phone thicker. They can save a couple of millimeter if they avoid it.
