Agreed with this.  If @OldMeister still wants to try it out, for me the best panel to use with such a small VPS is VestaCP.  It is VERY light on resources.  It is the only free panel in my experience that can work easily and freely with 512MB of RAM without any dragging.  The panel also includes fail2ban security that has been set up by default with no need to tweak it, and the script is very well supported with loads of documentation at the VestaCP Website and support forum.

You could check out some of my beginner notes when I first started to use a Linux VPS in 2014.

THanks for starting the giveaway, VPS 9, VPS 12, VPS 3 great in specifications. I may not participate in this giveaway as it seems there is confusion in selecting alternative for VPS 1 from host4fun based on specifications.

Just out of curiosity, may I ask why trials are not allowed on your servers? Trials are not illegal software copies I suppose.

I do understand and agree with your position on eBay keys though.

@tiwil

Ah yes I said most providers allow it but sponsor of VPS8 is not included. It's cheaper to get a Paid Windows VPS than buying a Windows License.

@tryp4vps because trials can only be used for "days" and after that a license key may required, that is why if you want to install and use Windows OS on your VPS you should probably got the license key ready.

@tiwil what @cubedata was trying to says is just for "security reasons", yes it was probably a genuine key "for now" but how about on later years? you cant never can tell isn't? that is why the best way is to buy a copy from legitimate Microsoft distrubutor or directly from Microsoft.

Btw, VPS 10 also doesn't give us option to use Windows. And I agree, their specs will not meet this XD.

If my memory is correct, the "days" for Windows server trial is 180.

But this is not the main point. What I want to say is during that trial period, the software shall be considered a legal copy. Upon the trial period is over, users can then buy license key. That's nothing illegal here.

My policy on prohibiting trial licenses on vps's here aren't up for discussion since I can see a lot of abuse coming from that. have you not heard of the infinite trial trick they claim for server & normal versions of windows exists? and that is not legal either? if not there is my point, there is so much encompassing windows licensing that if you don't know how to avoid legal liabilities it is best just to stop it before it even starts. and besides the legal issues, it just isn't wise for security related reasons as well.
