@deanhills

i made a post here .. https://post4vps.com/thread-2466-post-23119.html

they use various patch-sets over chrome base to remove google codes that frequently connect to google servers and other codes that usually help make keeping track of you online a much easier job. Brave browser is another made from chromium source. these two, bromite and Ungoogled Chromium also uses patch from them. full details on their respective sites. i will rather not repeat it. thanks

Firefox Browser is always the best from day one.Chrome consumes more pc ram

I use both for number of years .. my vote goes to Chrome.
Both got memory leaks and eat ram. At least, UI wise, Chrome is less clustered and offers a good performance.

Well, I've just got a special cheap internet package that includes streaming 5 TV channels. As much as I love my Mozilla Firefox, it irritated me when I wanted to get a full movie screen with F11 function key, it only made the bottom user panel whole screen, but not the top index panel. But with Chrome howeverI got a complete full screen. So for the moment when it gets to movies, then I'm using Chrome. I'm using both Chrome and Firefox almost 50/50 at the moment, whereas before it used to be 80% Firefox and 20% Chrome. I still hate it that Google wants to force me to sign into Chrome in order to get it to remember my settings. I don't have to do that with Firefox. Google has also become very intrusive with my google mail, like every time when I try to access my emails with a different device or from a different location it sees it as a hacking attempt. I'm thinking of changing my main e-mail account to my protonmail.

I am still using 90% Firefox and 10% Chrome, approximately.

But I do not need to login Gmail frequently.

Because I am using Outlook as my main e-mail account, and I have set to forward Gmail to Ouklook.

I have not tried protonmail but I guess Outlook should be more reliable.

I personally have both, tho my main daily driver is firefox, but sometimes I encounter websites that for some reason only work on chrome, and sometimes I need to translate a foreign website and I've not yet found a good extension on firefox that can do that, for which I prefer using Chrome. Chrome is probably faster than firefox, but the way It makes my PC lag I just stick to firefox.

RE: Best? Chrome vs firefox - GodLikeGill - 08-27-2019

Well I prefer Chrome only since that is the only browser that I have been using forever. I really don't have any problem with Google Chrome on my PC but when it comes to using google chrome on my laptop , it is just painful to watch how slowly it operates , I really hate how much these web browser use ram. When multitasking , that is a huge pain too , I might actually think on moving to firefox when operating it on my laptop. Well the concept is quiet clear that Google Chrome will have little more features than firefox at the cost of most ram consumption and just slow operation , whereas Firefox is a little less load browser , so if you have a decent pc (unlike my laptop) then go for google chrome for sure , if u don't stick to FireFox to avoid waiting for 1 minute for google chrome to open.

RE: Best? Chrome vs firefox - LightDestory - 08-27-2019

Well, I used to have Firefox previous Quantum update and it was "nice but not perfect". After Quantum update it improved a lot, but I felt like a silent war coming from Extensions developers, I don't know what happened but some developers attacked Mozilla being a 'no developer friendly" behavior.

Recently I stared using a chromium based web-browser, not chrome but the new Microsoft Edge chromium builds via Beta Channel and it is great. Almost every Google Features has been removed and they are adding own services like translator and a full integration with Windows shell. If you think that Microsoft will add the current features of Edge UWP... it will be a great chance to have a nice browser.

Still I am a bit sad regarding the way how web is developing, nowadays Google have the power to set up standard of Internet and it scares me as a developer myself.
That's bad.
I hope that someday Mozilla and Google join a Web Standards Organization to talk about how thing will grow and cooperate, and for critical decision use a vote-based system.

RE: Best? Chrome vs firefox - Sn1F3rt - 08-27-2019

Presently I'm using Chrome, Firefox as well as Internet Explorer. However, it off the there I'd still prefer Chrome, were I asked to make a choice.

This is not due to the fact that I follow the mass, whatever is common. I have my own reasons to justify Chrome's superiority. First, I'd like to highlight the advantages of extensions. I presently run my own custom theme for Chrome. Also, the ease of features appeal to me. For instance, instead of installing a VPN on my PC I would go to Chrome Webstore and hey the TouchVPN extension installed. That way I don't burden my PC (even more owing to the fact that Android Studio and Filmora are already taking it's toll on the poor thing), while enjoying the full features of a normal VPN.

There are a lot of advantages to mention. One is the auto-translate feature, then there is the auto sign-in, ease of access, custom fonts and the kids doesn't end here. I agree that some or most of these features may be available in other browsers, however the interface if Chrome still wins my favor. Had even checked it Chromium but it hangs my PC a lot.

Obviously, while your browsing Dark Web, there isn't Chrome available anyways. Tor browser suffices for it's absence. Orfox and Orbot are companions on Android. (Self-explanatory)

Regards,
