@tiwil yes i know he is one of my great teachers when i am in very initial stage and i am respect him by heart. and post4vps experts staff is really so quick and positive in response. but one most disturbing thing is our timing difference. when your night my morning and when your morning my night. and i mostly got my answer after 12 to 24hrs. some time too quick and i love it.

my only question is to be a master of some quick thumb rules to back your vps normal.

Ip tables is great firewall that is jncluded in almost any linux distro . The only problem that i have is that it isnt persistent but luckily it is solved by just installing iptables persistent package

Also if you want just to block specific port ufw is a better solution . It is easier to use but it isnt as complex as iptables . Ufw only allow to block port but that is what most people use firewall for

A rule set for IPv6 (ip6tables) is also available now after setting it up on my server and testing it. Take a look at it on my new blog: https://m0nad.pr0xy.eu.org/posts/basic-secure-linux-firewall-setup (scroll down to IPv6 Firewall Rules).

I will add the ip6tables rules to this guide ASAP.
