First time I've heard of this OS too. Where have you seen it before? The Indonesian Linux Forum often talks about this OS! Than the OS that is popular today! I think this is an OS that has Top Class Security! They often say this is the best OS for servers! So I want to try it! RE: 50th Giveaway - rudra - 11-01-2019 here is what people say about bsd flavours.. OpenBSD security, FreeBSD desktop, NetBSD runs on almost everything, DragonFlyBSD network computing, grid etc. bsd is derived from Unix and it is a whole system. kernel and packages all maintained by the same team. as opposed to Linux, which is the kernel and associated drivers. bsd licensing is very simple compared to Linux. it is mostly a choice or things you need the way you need them. more secure is a kind of myth. Apple's os came from it in a way. you can directly install it from hdd i think. never tried though. boot into your system using a live small Linux iso like gparted or something. run it from ram. now set up partitions. next download mfsbsd image and write it using dd of=/dev/sda bs=1m next you boot from disk and run bsdinstall you only need vnc from control panel. if you fail for some reason, then i will host a bsd image over pxe which you can network boot to and install. I'm sure you can directly boot using grub too.
