Extraction (2015) with Bruce Willis and unknown (to me) actors Kellan Lutz and Gina Carano.  I was very excited as I thought I'd found a movie that I hadn't seen before with one of my favourite action stars Bruce Willis, and then that feeling didn't last long as the movie completely bored me.  No wonder there wasn't a lot of noise made about the movie when it was on the circuit.  Bruce Willis, a veteran CIA agent gets abducted, and his son with a few personal issues, goes rogue in order to "extract" him.  It was an action for action sake movie that was very loose jointed - didn't flow smoothly, and the plot just didn't work for me.  5/10 (just because it's Bruce Willis - otherwise I'd have scored it 2/10)

I've watched a few documentaries since, but the last 'movie' that I watched was "Alice's Restaurant."

It's the movie that goes along with the Arlo Guthrie song by the same title. It's a bit of a family tradition to watch the movie and listen to the song. The missus and I both know most of the words and this year we had a young lady join our festivities, exposing her to the wonder that is Alro Guthrie.

You can read about the movie here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice%27s_Restaurant_(film)

It's largely based on a true story, as is the song. There really was an Alice's Restaurant and Arlo wrote the jingle as a radio ad. That's the bit about, "You can get anything you want, at Alice's Restaurant (except for Alice)."

Arlo still performs and his father was Woody Guthrie - whom you may recognize as the artist that wrote, "This Land is Our Land." Woody is one of the fathers of American Folk Music.

Truth (2015) Directed by James Vanderbilt and with actors I admire Cate Blanchett (in the lead), Robert Redford, Stacey Keach and Dennis Quaid. Great production, great action and interesting real life story about typical political manouvring of the media (60 minutes) in discrediting Bush by saying he received preferential treatment in the military. Mary Mapes (Cate Blanchett) was in the role of the producer of the show who thought she had above board documentary evidence which in the end was doubted, led to an internal investigation and alsoan investigation by the Media Board that completely discredited her, after which she was fired. Robert Redford was in the role of a news anchor at CBS News. He resigned his position after Mary Mapes was fired.

Impressive story almost (but not quite) along the lines of the classic President's Men (Robert Redford and Dustin Hofmann) about the Nixon tapes of the seventies. Score Truth 8/10.

Outrage is a movie series about bloody fights within the Japanese Yakuza between different families and clans. One of my favorite Japanese actors is playing one of the leading roles: Takeshi Kitano. He's always the cool and crazy Yakuza who handles every situation to his advantage and always escapes death in fights. I think Coda is the last movie of the series but I won't spoil anyone. It is a great movie and movie series. Just watch it yourself.

I'm surprised and happy to see someone who is watching our movies and likes them.

Outrage is a great movie series. Kitano is a really great actor. Really love how he plays all his roles.

You should watch the other movies he made. A lot of great stuff Smile.
