HostLease VPS 3 Review - ikk157 - 03-27-2020 Hello everyone! First off, just like my previous review, I apologize for the lack of formatting. It’s a complete nightmare on mobile. Today I’ll be writing a review on HostLease’s VPS 3 (not the same as the VPS 3 in the post4vps plans). And what better way to start off than with some benchmarks: System Info ----------- Processor: Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2650 v2 @ 2.60GHz CPU Cores: 4 Frequency: 397.500 MHz Memory: 1024 MB Swap: 512 MB Uptime: 10 min, OS: Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS Arch: x86_64 (64 Bit) Kernel: 3.10.0-1062.4.2.vz7.116.7 Hostname: {removed by me} Speedtest (IPv4 only) --------------------- Your public IPv4 is {removed by me} LocationProviderSpeed CDNCachefly48.6MB/s Lenoir, NC, USDacentec12.6MB/s Dallas, TX, USSoftlayer6.41MB/s Seattle, WA, USSoftlayer8.90MB/s San Jose, CA, USSoftlayer5.87MB/s Washington, DC, USLeaseweb6.42MB/s Tokyo, JapanLinode2.93MB/s SingaporeSoftlayer5.47MB/s TaiwanHinet3.79MB/s Rotterdam, Netherlands id3.net31.8MB/s Haarlem, NetherlandsLeaseweb39.4MB/s Disk Speed ---------- I/O (1st run) : 675 MB/s I/O (2nd run) : 604 MB/s I/O (3rd run) : 697 MB/s Average I/O: 658 MB/s or .65 GB/s UnixBench results: BYTE UNIX Benchmarks (Version 5.1.3) System: {removed by me}: GNU/Linux OS: GNU/Linux -- 3.10.0-1062.4.2.vz7.116.7 -- #1 SMP Mon Dec 9 19:36:21 MSK 2019 Machine: x86_64 (x86_64) Language: en_US.utf8 (charmap="ANSI_X3.4-1968", collate="ANSI_X3.4-1968") CPU 0: Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2650 v2 @ 2.60GHz (5199.9 bogomips) Hyper-Threading, x86-64, MMX, Physical Address Ext, SYSENTER/SYSEXIT, SYSCALL/SYSRET, Intel virtualization CPU 1: Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2650 v2 @ 2.60GHz (5199.9 bogomips) Hyper-Threading, x86-64, MMX, Physical Address Ext, SYSENTER/SYSEXIT, SYSCALL/SYSRET, Intel virtualization CPU 2: Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2650 v2 @ 2.60GHz (5199.9 bogomips) Hyper-Threading, x86-64, MMX, Physical Address Ext, SYSENTER/SYSEXIT, SYSCALL/SYSRET, Intel virtualization CPU 3: Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2650 v2 @ 2.60GHz (5199.9 bogomips) Hyper-Threading, x86-64, MMX, Physical Address Ext, SYSENTER/SYSEXIT, SYSCALL/SYSRET, Intel virtualization 01:40:06 up 12:14, 1 user, load average: 0.16, 0.11, 0.08; It’s much faster than my VPS9 in pretty much everything! From establishing the ssh connection to running programs, it’s lightening fast! Also, I really appreciate that it comes with a panel, that way I can do everything myself without having to constantly rely on someone else (which caused some recent unnecessary trouble with VPS9). In addition, the amount of CPU cores is absolutely astonishing! Definitely a great VPS for CPU demanding tasks! Furthermore, @Pacific Spirit who is the owner of HostLease is extremely friendly! That plays a vital role in the overall experience of the VPS. He’s always kind and polite, and will never say no to any of your requests! To conclude, VPS 3 from HostLease is a great VPS, from the it’s great performance, to the overall usage experience. Not to mention that it’s completely free! Thank you for reading my review. I’m open to any suggestions into making it better. RE: HostLease VPS 3 Review - chanalku91 - 03-28-2020 Hello, thank you for a review! Btw, did you not do a CPU benchmark from this VPS with GeekBench or UnixBench? RE: HostLease VPS 3 Review - Littlemaster - 03-28-2020 Even though it is hard to make review using mobile,it is a great to see you're reviewing the VPS. I check this section every time before applying for a VPS. Hostlease is good company with reputation. I think I had used their shared service. Their team is great. I think on performance my VPS 1 is better. I will have to review it soon. RE: HostLease VPS 3 Review - ikk157 - 03-28-2020 (03-28-2020, 02:00 AM)chanalku91 Wrote: Hello, thank you for a review! Thank you very much for the valuable feedback. I did, in fact, forget to run a CPU benchmark... I’ve gone ahead and ran a UnixBench benchmark on the VPS and I’ve added it to the review. I greatly appreciate it! Also, are you referring to VPS 1 from the HostLease plans? Or the VPS 1 from post4vps? (I’m looking forward to reading your review!) RE: HostLease VPS 3 Review - Sn1F3rt - 03-28-2020 Hey @ikk157, Great review of the HostLease VPS. Just like you I'm also very fond of my VPS 3 from HostLease. The speedtests are awesome, and the disk speed is also amazing. Using it for developing a few scripts and testing them, it's a great service from HostLease who've always been a quality sponsor of Post4VPS. Sadly, these days I'm having a lot of homework and projects to be done, so I'm not being able to review any of my VPSes. I really want to be writing a review, in fact I've started and saved it as a draft, but a lot of it is pending to be done. Again I must say yours is an amazing review. Good luck on the VPS. (I’m looking forward to reading your review!)Most probably he's referring to the one from Post4VPS as I see he's a VPS 1 holder of this forum. Regards, RE: HostLease VPS 3 Review - tryp4vps - 03-28-2020 Nice review for a HostLease VPS. By the way is it really a normal VPS 3 plan? Because my VPS 3 has only 768MB RAM and 2 CPU cores. No idea why the specs do not match. RE: HostLease VPS 3 Review - Pacific Spirit - 03-28-2020 (03-28-2020, 10:11 AM)tryp4vps Wrote: Nice review for a HostLease VPS. I guess that he misspelled. Because these are VPS 4 specs instead of VPS 3. But to be honest, this is a good option with the VPS. You can perform anything.. RE: HostLease VPS 3 Review - ikk157 - 03-28-2020 @Pacific Spirit informed me that he, just a few hours back, upgraded all VPS plans to 1Gbps networking. So I re-ran @"Hidden Refuge"’s benchmarking script and put in the new results in the review. (03-28-2020, 09:39 AM)sohamb03 Wrote: Hey @ikk157, Thank you very much for the awesome feedback! I’ll be looking forward to reading your review. No pressure! Take your time! I was also thinking that it would most likely be VPS 1 from post4vps that he was referring to. @tryp4vps and @"Monolithic Studios" it’s still VPS 3, however with a minor difference. I was having issues with exceeding the default RAM allotment for VPS 3, but @Pacific Spirit was so nice he ended up giving me additional RAM and CPU cores. However, everything else is still the same as the VPS 3 plan, so it’s not exactly VPS 4. Just a “fancier” VPS 3. This is one of the reasons why I mentioned the great user experience in my review. RE: HostLease VPS 3 Review - LightDestory - 03-28-2020 Very nice review I agree regarding the mobile aspect, I tried few times writing something with my smartphone, but I failed everytime, luckily my Samsung comes with a Desktop mode so getting a portable keyboard e find a screen somewhere isn't so hard where I am so I fixed like that. Regarding this fancy VPS3: IO Speeds, CPU cores and network speed are very nice, be sure to get the best from it! I see ..... what a great offer for you. I mean you not only get a better spec, but also because it is still a "VPS 3 plan" so that you should only require to make 20 posts per month for keeping it. Congrats. |
