Data Science - tiwil - 11-24-2020

Have you interested with data science lately? It's a field that's increasing in demand from around 2-3 years ago. Everybody seems wanted to be a data scientist because of it's very sexy. I also wanted to be a data scientist as I like to learn about data and sometimes we use ML when doing data analysis. I still cannot believe that machine can also learn and I enjoyed to see how the machine works.

I'm currently learning data science by self-taught. It's fun but sometimes it's hard to understand something. I usually learn from Kaggle and pick up some data set that may interest me and try. If I'm stuck then I try to understand others code and re-implement. I'll also join a competition by one of e-commerce, NDSC by Shopee. It's free so why not give it a try. I don't expect too much to win this competition though as I'm still new to data science stuff Tongue

Believe me, I started a free course on data science. I stopped hating math. Now I hate data science more. Well, freecodecamp is building a data science course, you can check it out. Its not for me.

Another interesting thread I missed somehow. I have started looking into Data Science since few years after I have started learning Python. It has become a big trend and today a good data science tech or a good data scientist can earn 100,000+ Annual salary in the USA. Because it has a seriously high demand.

Data Science is in simple terms extracting valuable information from raw data. Now if you have done Statistics as a subject in university or college then you won't feel anything new about this. That's pretty much how we define statistics too. People have been argued this for years. Personally, I think Data Science is just a modern way of doing traditional statistics.

I have started learning python to automate the process of gathering and sorting web traffic, SEO, and social media data. It's then I discovered data science which has new concepts of doing the same old statistical techniques faster and easier using computer science. I mean things like Data structures and algorithms. of course, none of these are new but just it has better ways to get these done.

Now some of its concepts have become subfields where you can find specialists of each of these. For example, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Data Visualization, Data Cleaning, Future Engineering, etc. This is a really interesting subject to anyone who work with information and data.

I am attending data science specialization courses at my university. We are now studying the popular software used for Data Ingestions and pipelines to handle Big Data: apache NIFI, flume, logstash, spark, kafka and so on.

Data science is still evolving nowadays so you need to keep up with the newest article about it.

Let's work hard and build a more efficient world, respecting the privacy!

My new job has a lot of opportunities to learn data science and ML and I’m excited to start learning more about it, especially because I’ll have a chance to learn Python. I’ve had a little experience to use the Metal API and Machine Learning with iOS development, but this project at work will be a huge step forward in that field.

@tiwil Its totally new for me to hear. and looks amazing as you described. But you never attach any good related article for it. and some video tutorial links are also helpful for us. hope you may work on it as you learn you try to teach us too.

Data science is definitely a red hot topic recently. And I am particularly interested in machine learning programming.

I have also written some scripts in python, for machine learning. Not big projects though. But I have already learnt a lot during the development of these projects.

I don't expect that this thread will blow up since no one even reply at first, HAHAHA.

Anyway, I found a YouTube video transforming a SurveyMonkey data to ready-to-use-data for Tableau. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKvWD0f18Pc. I really recommend to watch it, he explained everything very clearly.

And ... Google also created a Data Analytics certification. It's up on Coursera right now. Check out this YouTube video if you want to learn more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvTpocrPNlo. I'm applying for Coursera financial aid. It should be out in 5 days. I have to wait for 15 days.
