Limitless Hosting - VPS 13 Honest Review - tiwil - 02-10-2021 Short Introduction I got VPS 13 at 61st giveaway in October. This VPS provider is Limitless Hosting (https://limitlesshost.net) that's why I give it a try to grab a VPS from Limitless Hosting. And I got it! I have used the VPS for 4 months and it's going pretty well. This VPS located in Finland, Europe. While using it I never get any kind of really massive lag, all perfectly runs well. Specifications and Benchmark Benchmark below is using @sohamb03 script. Specs Quote:System Info This VPS uses AMD Ryzen processor. I really don't see providers use AMD Ryzen in their VPS. They usually use Intel Xeon instead. This is new and pretty interesting to see how it works. Internet Speed Quote:Speedtest (IPv4 only) Well, I cannot complain about their internet speed. Not so fantastic but enough for me. For the one from Future Hosting, it probably their server instead of this VPS connection. When using this VPS, I, which located near Singapore, can quickly load my website without Cloudflare at ~1 second on the first time visit. Disk Speed Quote:Buffered Sequential Write Speed Disk speed is beyond expectation. I cannot complain this kind of speed. Based on Limitless Hosting's VPS plan, the VPS is equipped with NVME SSD which is the fastest disk drive (AFAIK). Benchmark below is using bench.monster script (thanks to @Lampard for providing this script). Specs Quote:--------------------------------------------------------------------------- CPU Benchmark Quote:Geekbench v4 CPU Benchmark: I'm not a computer geek that know what score is high but since it says excellent then it's excellent . IO Speed Quote: IO Test RAM speed is very awesome! Disk speed somehow at 1st run it always run "slow" then on 2nd and 3rd run it's in its maximum speed. Probably need to "start the machine" first? Another Speedtest! Quote: Global Speedtest.net Upload speed is awesome in many location but download speed is a little bit questionable. I prefer faster upload speed than download since it's a server tho. We're serving not consuming data. Therefore will need more speed in upload instead. Checkout another benchmark (that I don't know what it is) here: https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/16044438 My Experience with VPS 13 In short, it's an awesome VPS. I got this VPS back in October 2020. Four months have passed with more than 80 posts posted to keep this VPS alive. When I decide to get this VPS, my plan is to have a working website and can run my Discord bot. So then I think, "Hmm ..., VPS with 2GB RAM should be enough. This VPS 13 met that requirement and have a control panel." Turns out, I also need a mail server. Yandex Mail doesn't work as expected that all of my email marked as spam by their system. That's sucks. I really need a working mail server since my website should send mail to the user daily. Well some sort like a notification if they have miss something. When I got the VPS, I reinstalled the OS because I want to start from scratch. The panel is intuitive, just like another Virtualizator panel. It's easy to use for a person with SolusVM experience before. The reinstalling phase is also easier but doesn't give so much room for configuration during installation since Virtualizator control all of them, and it's a KVM not a Xen HVM. Not a big deal! I can leave the VPS for another work while it's working on it. After installation done, I decide to try for VestaCP alternative but all of them are suck (or I am the one that don't understand? HAHA). So then I reinstall the OS again and install Cyberpanel instead. All work very smoothly without error. I haven't reinstall the OS since that time. Remember about the mail server I talked before? I installed them with help of Cyberpanel. The panel install it without issue when I request the panel to do so. Then I configured my DNS to match the record by Cyberpanel and now it's working. One thing to done about this mail server is none of the receivers' mail server complain the mail received is a spam (not like Yandex before). AFAIK this only can happen if the sender's server IP address is green and high reputation. It's like from D+7 I got this VPS and the IP is already have high reputation. What does this high reputation means then? It means that Limitless Hosting really take care their business carefully and keep their IP address and business clear from hacker or something like that. I highly recommend this company. What's next? Limitless Hosting currently only have VPS that is located in the Europe. If they have one in Singapore or Australia, I might pick one and move to them as a paid user instead. I hope someday Limitless Hosting will cover more location and be bigger than what they're right now. We also know that the owner of Limitless Hosting is the expert in this field (probably that's why it's already have high reputation when I got this VPS). Conclusion Well, I think I need to conclude anything here. As you read the review, you already know that the VPS is fast and the provider is fantastic. It's worth it to be paid users of Limitless Hosting. I may be one when they start provide Singapore or Australia location. If you're interested to grab one, checkout their plan here. You can start now RE: Limitless Hosting - VPS 13 Honest Review - tryp4vps - 02-11-2021 What a Honest review for VPS 13! The overall performance of this VPS from Limitless Hosting is indeed great, particularly with the high speed NVME SSD. And the clean IP address is also important for running mail server. Glad that you have won this VPS which matches perfectly with for your usages. Not gonna lie, when I faced that Yandex doesn't allow bulk mailing with their SMTP, I really confused what option to take. I take the risk of "destroying" my configuration for installing mail server inside. I really hope it doesn't brake any config I made before. Well it works well until now. Only a few tweaks from Cyberpanel to load the mail server after reboot. And from the first email after DNS configured, I received the mail straight to the inbox. None of my user have complained that they receive the email in spam instead. So, no 3rd party mail server and no extra cost to pay for them. It's indeed awesome to have this VPS. We all know that Limitless Hosting's owner is @Lampard which is an expert in this field. RE: Limitless Hosting - VPS 13 Honest Review - sAmI - 02-12-2021 It is really an clean and good detailed review! You included much about your experience that is really great to see. The VPS itself is really solid R5 3600 with 2GB RAM and with NVME Storage and Game Servers allowed, My eyes is on this VPS! When it will be available definitely gonna try my luck! I would really like to see a Speedtest.net result as well if that you could provide ( I know you have already provided the Benchmark script result) but if its possible! Really good review! RE: Limitless Hosting - VPS 13 Honest Review - tbelldesignco - 02-13-2021 This is a fantastic review, your VPS has some solid specs and I enjoyed reading what you were hoping to achieve with it. As for your mail server - if you are using NGINIX I recommend Mailcow Dockerized. I have that set up on my VPS with IONIOS that way if my VPS with @cubedata is down for maintenance I will still have mail traffic. The setup was fairly easy and you have a choice of SOGo or Roundcube for your front end inbox management. Mailcow will also help you with your domain verification so your messages will not get flagged by some of the larger email providers. Yup, it's possible! Here is the speedtest I took few minutes ago: http://www.speedtest.net/result/10927929760.png. The benchmark doesn't lie that this VPS speed to nearby location is around 10-15MB/s. Fine for me as long as it's stable. I only use mail server for sending email out as I need to setup a no-reply email for a specific domain. Other than that I use Yandex services as it's free and fast to configure too. Therefore there is no incoming mail. Plus, this VPS never go down for maintenance from the first time I powered up! Which is fantastic! I usually only reboot the server when Ubuntu asks to. Well, Thank you for the response and for sending the speedtest result, But i just checked the VPS Plans Page and it shows that it is supposed to be 1GBps but is like 150mbit right now, Which is fine as long as you are happy with it. But still kinda confused. I own a VPS 7 currently, And just did a speedtest http://www.speedtest.net/result/10933039475.png and it gave me the following result. I guess @Lampard might be able to give us some detail about it. It is on a shared 1 Gbps network, however 10 MB/s is real slow, probably it has something to do with the speedtest server or the routing. I tested it on one of my test server, on same node. Network Benchmark from all around the world: Code: ## Global Speedtest.net RE: Limitless Hosting - VPS 13 Honest Review - tiwil - 02-15-2021 (02-15-2021, 01:49 PM)Lampard Wrote: It is on a shared 1 Gbps network, however 10 MB/s is real slow, probably it has something to do with the speedtest server or the routing. Agree that 10MB/s is slow for a server. But it might be issue with Speedtest server's instead. I also didn't notice any kind of extreme lagging when using the VPS though. But if I can get it faster, I will be very happy to do that. Your global speedtest also show the same, around 10-20MB/s mostly for each server. What should I change if I may ask? I don't change anything about the networking since I don't have any experience in that. So I just leave it as it is. I don't know if Cyberpanel changed something but it shouldn't. When tested from nearby location, this is the speed: Code: Location Upload Download Ping 10MB-20MB/s seems fine for far distance, as it is being tested from USA which is far from Finland. As the ping increases, speed decreases: Code: USA, New York (Optimum) 160.92 Mbit/s 99.40 Mbit/s 98.398 ms Nearest Location, considering this is on a 1 Gbps Shared Port, this also seems fine. Code: France, Lyon (SFR) 322.70 Mbit/s 457.59 Mbit/s 47.241 ms |
