My favorite has always been Wordpress, and I am actually thinking about trying to sit down and learn more about the inner workings of the software so I can develop a more powerful text editor for some projects I am working on. There are just to many good things to talk about with Wordpress and I've yet to have any gripes, besides maybe the strain it can put on your server haha.

@tbelldesignco  A few years back I did a course in WordPress at WPApprentice.com.  I did it over two years over the summer months and this is where my real learning started.  The value of that course, over and above the "how-to" steps, was the owner, Kirk Biglione (he's a WP guru and specialist from California) provided other resources for getting things done.  So for example as per your plan to learn how to develop a powerful text editor, there may be resources for those as well.

He also provides resources for how you could market your skills.

If and when you do succeed in creating a more powerful text editor, I'm sure a large number of users would love to be able to use it. The editor that is currently there - the new Gutenberg one, took me ages to master, and at the end of it I decided to stick with the old classic one, as the new one had so many tools hidden away in different places, it got to be painful to use.  By the way Kirk Biglione studied the Gutenberg to its minutest details if you are interested to check through it:

When i look at wpapprentice.com , to take the course, we must pay some price . And It is Interesting because Wordpress is one of my favorites CMS, And What the different between Paid Course in wpapprentice.com and free course or tutorial out there?

RE: What's your favorite CMS system? - tbelldesignco - 09-21-2020

@deanhills yes, I think the text editor especially with Gutenberg is kind of a pain to use and I never really got use to it before migrating over to WPBakery, Divi and some of the others and those are really what is inspiring my own text editor that I am writing. I really like that with those that I mentioned I would keep them as peripherals to the CMS as a whole, so that they can be updated freely without having to update the entire CMS, that way when new unicode smilies, in content assets like modals and such are developed and ready to go, users can update the Text Editor and while keeping their website up and out of maintenance mode.

@Arkiven4 in my experience there is not a whole lot of difference. There are some really educators on free platforms like YouTube and Vimeo and they actually take the time to go into the platform, common practices and so on. With monetization on YouTube, you will be able to take something that is paid course quality, for free with the addition of a couple ad breaks in the video and you save a whole lot up front and can put it towards resources like quality themes and plugins to get you started, and you are supporting a creator who is a small business owner or developer just like some of us are.

Wordpress is the best for me when it comes to CMS, easy to customize, support also was good due to its popularity. Building wordpress themes from scratch is also very easy specially when you have background in HTML, CSS and PHP
