Like Anik said you need to port forward to make your game server online. When you and your friend are connected on the same network, you do not need to port forward where you can access the game server through a local connection.

If you do have a budget it is really suggested to avail a dedicated server with FREE DDoS protection since you will be using it as game server and game server is prone to DDoS attack so be ready, there are lots of CRABS that want you to pull down to RAISE there selves.

I think its cheaper to buy VPS for 24/7 server than hosting it on pc or on server in home, and its possible to host without portforwarding but you need to get public ip.

Depending where electricity is cheaper, portforwarding isn't that hard too.

If you want easy way to create make game server . You can rent a game server hosting . Just buy and little setup and done . But if you want to host in pc . You must setup game server,port fowarding and etc .

There is actually "NO FREE HOST SERVER", sooner or later it will be down and others has a requirement to do to make it live.
