Please note that when @sagher asked for a reinstall of Ubuntu OS, once it was installed, I tested it first, and when I tried to access the VPS with SSH with Putty we were completely locked out.

The exact same problem that Rehan had a few weeks ago when he tried to "upgrade" Ubuntu on his VPS 9:

Looks like when Ubuntu updates are attempted that it is doing something to the SSH files.

This time round it was more serious, as we were completely locked out of Sagher's VPS 9 and reinstalling the OS didn't fix the problem. I had to submit a support ticket to Virmach to sort it out.  Virmach support is overloaded at the moment due to other Virmach network issues, so took a very long time and many hours before they could sort the problem out.

In the support request I also asked Virmach if they could update Ubuntu to the latest version, however doesn't look as though it is going to happen immediately.  They are looking at it though, so hopefully one of these days.

So PLEASE do not attempt updates or upgrades with Ubuntu on VPS 9.  Instead, use another OS on VPS 9.  Or if you insist on wanting an up to date version of Ubuntu, look at another VPS instead.

Thank you to Post4VPS and VirMach for my awesome VPS 9!
