The thread, like this one, asks folks for their native and acquired languages.. The goal being to get to know each others cultural background and how far each one of us went in extending that native horizon of his.. So please, you simply need to format your response like mine :
Native language: Berber/Arabic (a strange mix: read blow for more)
I used to just write Arabic as my native language to cut back on explaining the complication of my own case. But as this forum should be my last public forum where I will be participating, I'll dig deeper to do justice to my own (now lost) native language for once and, by the same token, show how natural languages are lost to the more dominant ones (in my case: Arabic dominating Berber language.)

The fact that I grew up in a largely tri-lingual household (Arabic dominant, French constantly lurking in the background and Berber which is the mother tongue) and where parents conscientiously avoid talking to their children in their mother tongue in favor to the more sophisticated Arabic language which is also the language of Prayer (which defiantly tilt the balance in its favor) had/has the obvious result of the siblings being incapacitated vis-a-vis of their mother tongue for ever. I confess that I can understand it to a certain point when I'm spoken to with it but that I have a hard time lining up a complete sentence without being laughed at. This being said, I should also confess that it was also my fault to have lost it completely -unlike my brothers and sisters- given the fact that I was more interested in the Sciences and the key languages that can help me get them... The rest is history...

The major up-side to this whole story is that being multilingual helps a lot when it comes to breadth of cultural outreach one has access to.. away from the cultural confinement the native language -whatever it is- imposes on us all.

Hello, I hope everyone is doing good.
So as far as everyone must have read the title i was just trying to get a little bit of idea of in how much time people often complete their posts and how they manage it up. I have seen people here doing it on the last day some of them and one of them made a record even. I have seen people it doing it for like the community not for the VPS specifically and they usually have a high number of posts at the end of the month.

Another question is that, People here are also having Jobs , Studies etc etc. How do you guys make time for posting and how you manage it up in a month?

So, I have college and i'm not really a good student though and i play games semi-professionally so basically i divide my posts into 4 quarters like at the start of i try to do 5 posts each 5 days.
I have been less active for 2 months now haven't been doing this but yes i use to achieve my post that way and it helped me balance the loa!

2018 was a wonderful hosting year, a lot happened, there are many stories to be told and we will look back. With a number of new hosting companies in 2018, including HostLease that has been reopened with a new owner. New sponsors were also added to Post4VPS and a number that had disappeared. VPS-Hosting.ca the old VPS 3 and 6 were theirs, also Rocketrix had suddenly disappeared, with the last being GalaxyHostPlus in the beginning with the end of VPS 7. April 9, 2018 ABC-Hosters came into the spotlight with a great VPS . And in December went VPSLices.

Welcome to the annual overview of 2019, a year with a beautiful moment, and a year with annoying moments, but a year that will stay with us anyway. To start on March 15 with gloomy news with the passing of Charley Whitening, active in Formula 1 for years but in recent years as race leader, <dvz_me_placeholder id="0" /> was also signed up as the new giveaway manager, <dvz_me_placeholder id="1" /> also went crazy with his VPS, he changed his Disk Space from 100GB to 300GB HDD. Of course, HostLease did not leave behind the Sponsor of VPS 15 either, HostLease had given a new VPS 16 a year later. <dvz_me_placeholder id="1" /> was forced to switch its hosting service because the contract agreement with HostLease had not gone well. But knowing <dvz_me_placeholder id="1" />, we had no worries, in fact, he had grown quickly towards this switch in his company and can call himself very successful, because not long after that he also came up with new VPS 4, which was stimulated to the VPS industry once again. Also this VPS from Shadowhosting.net was a big one with a thick 300GB Disk Space HDD. After a failure of a few days, VPS 15 and 16 was back again, eventually the disk space was upgraded from 20GB to 40GB, on July 24th ABC-Hosters also came back with their VPS 3, on the same day VPS 17 came back. Hostlease was also included, this VPS was a completely different VPS than its predecessors, it also became massively used mainly for game servers, of course they were happy with this. Unfortunately, there was a report that due to Dutch legislation that ID card had to be given to the providers, of course HostLease did not agree with this and ultimately won the case law. Also came VPS18 and at the back where everyone looked strange about the specs, only they found the disk space low. VPS18-2 was also added later. <dvz_me_placeholder id="1" /> saw that HostLease was working hard on improving their VPSes, Shadowhosting of course has special power and one of the best service! So they drilled 10GB of RAM into their VPS and were ultimately the winner with the best specs. Of course Hostlease wanted to compete again, that's why the new VPS 16 with 200GB SSD, and 12GB RAM beat @ Manal's VPS'es but after a year hostlease had to give in to <dvz_me_placeholder id="1" /> from Shadowhosting with their fantastic UPHOLD, finally Hostdoc came back in picture but unfortunately with sad news, they had to close their doors due to an unknown case but we were very pleased with them.

Welcome to the annual overview of 2020 had gigantic annoying moments but also a few beautiful moments. On March 13 the Corona virus entered the world worldwide. Many companies were hit with this, unfortunately 2020 was a very disappointing year, Post4VPS was also hit hard by the Corona it seemed. Many VPS providers had pulled themselves out of the race, which was very annoying. HostDoc, ShadowHosting, ABC-Hosters, HostLease, Bladenode and SSDBlaze. All these companies no longer had a vision of the future at Post4VPS, so many sponsors had disappeared. Fortunately, there were also 3 new VPS providers to keep Post4VPS alive. Racknerd, ReadyDedis and limitlesshost. Cubedata and Bladenode were not that easy to get rid of, because a lot of sponsors had left, these new providers / current providers had free rein in Post4VPS, this was of course excellent news for Post4VPS. It was also discussed that cPanel adapted their revenue model, so that many providers switched to DirectAdmin to reduce costs. There were also a lot less free hosting providers, I have made a list here with the reliable hosting providers where you can claim free hosting and who their provider is or whether they have their own servers.

List FREE HOSTING.
- Blade node - 99% Trusted and verified. DirectAdmin
- HostPoco - 96% Trusted and verified. cPanel
- LNB Hosting - 98% Trusted and verified. DirectAdmin
- 000webhost - 75% Trusted but not verified. (Custom Panel)
Don't worry... I am here! (IF you watched Boku no Hero Academia you must know who I am imiting)
So today a fire broke into Strasburg datacenter and burned one of the 3 building. OVH announced that 4 of their nodes has been taken down: SBG 1,2,3,4:

SBG 2 is totally gone, all clients lost their data and probably their dedicated servers;

SBG 1 lost 4 out of their 12 rooms

SBG 3 & 4 are safe
A lot of people are complaining to OVH for this issue but... OVH doesn't have any responsability!
Making a back-up of the data is a responsability of the data's owner not of the data's hoster
Let's hope that there wasn't any important data for you on these servers... it doesn't matter who owned the server but the data inside could be related to you: videogames, public service who knows what there was inside.

Well, let's start this funny discussion about 3D printing.

Right now there are 2 types of 3D printer:

3D printer based on PLA-ABS-OtherStuff, where an extruder melt and place the material

3D printer based on resin, where a LCD screen uses its light to make the resin react on specific zones and so on

Both these types uses a special process called "Slicing" that takes as input a 3D model and outputs a set of instruction to "print" your model layer per layer for the extruder/LCD monitor.

You can 3D print almost everything: mechanical parts (using a polycarbonate), figures, cooking tools, furnitures and so on, there isn't a real limit, just your imagination.

There are a lot of chinese rip-off printers, there is the original Prusa, there are small and large printer. We can say that you can find for sure something suited for your needs.

So, are you going to own a 3D printer?
Do you have any sort of artistic skill to create your own models or are you going to use £D gallery such as Thingverse?

For example, I am only able to create CAD models: I can create mechanical parts or something similar because I have used CAD for some time now. Creating figures is almost impossible for me.

Do you invest money in something or having a long-term investment plan? I think one of the biggest problem society have is people get old and end up without any money or family. In the modern world, we no longer can rely on our families to take care of us in old age. It worked great in old days but today I think it's becoming less and less practical. So we need to have some money saved for those times when we are helpless to do what we do now. I know there are many ways people invest money on Like Fix deposits, Life Insurance, real estate property, gold, etc. Also, there are not so common methods like investing in rare items, etc.

Do you have a plan or have you been already doing that? Younger you start it will be better for you when you get old.

There are several things I do and I like to do. I think buying some land would be a great investment. I haven't done this yet but I'm going. It doesn't have to be something expensive. There are areas where land is pretty cheap. But these are won't stay undeveloped all the time. Another reason why I want to do this is that I would love to settle on a small farm one day and grow stuff, move away from busy cities.

I also invest in the stock market. Now I do it long-term way. I buy small about of shares like every month. But only from those big companies which have pretty solid share price. So I will keep buying for the next 20 years or so or till I decide it's no longer matters.

There is another thing I do. I buy stamps. Now it doesn't look like a promising way to invest money for some who don't know about philately. But in some countries, there is a pretty good market for that. Also, it's one of my hobbies. So it's a hobby which I can enjoy but also can have future returns. Now I'm kind of so obsessed with it so every month I buy a bit of stamp at face value.

I am starting this tread on this core issue started last week when after affiliation of Whatsapp with facebook community. and the content are in following link as it is too long to add as text in post so you can read it with detail in this link :

Whatsapp New Policy
So the key content is that whatsapp now openly accepted that they collect all of your data whatever in your mobile. even your internet connection your router information your friends & family circles. etc..
So the most danger part is that :

Apparently google experienced some downtime today in North America, from which they're just starting to recover from. This is after a massive outtage yesterday affecting gmail and youtube and other google services. As a reminder, if you have any systems integrated with google products, you may want to check and see if anything is missing or misplaced. If you use google for DNS, you may want to think carefully.

I first noticed the outtage when testing my vps for transactional emails. I thought the problem was on my end, but checking the logs revealed otherwise.

Some people (myself included) have been unable to send/receive emails. If you rely on gmail for communication, you may want to seek out an alternative; likewise if you are expecting communication and have not received it, this may be an explanation. If you use google smtp for relaying emails, you may have some that never sent.

Hello there, Hope everyone is doing fine in this ongoing pandemic.
I'm asking you guys two questions

1. How was your first experience with your first VPS!
2. How was your experience with your first Free VPS (obtained from somewhere)

i'll write mine a bit :
My first VPS was actually my Free VPS It was i guess 2012-2013, At that time Swift Panel was so famous like everyone use to host it. I was so dumb i thought hosting it would get me a Game Server, So hosted, I got my first VPS from Haphost having 128MB RAM and 128 Swap Memory and 10GB Disk with 100 or maybe mbit port. I literally spent like 9 hours on PC straight didn't slept out of excitement that i actually got a VPS and then i installed centos 5 i guess. Logged into the VPS and literally was just literally looking at the screen now what i do. Watched a youtube tutorial how to install Swift Panel and i literally copied each and every word and they did not provided any type of notepad with commands in the youtube so literally i wrote those links so many times i ilterally remembered epel repo link with every "-" "/". that made me learn different aspects of linux like hosting stuff websites and many different things.

List of Free VPS i have used in past :

1. HapHost (Had a really great experience got alot to learn for start)
2. FreeVPS.US (Contributes a really great part in my learning stage, Learned many things from people there and admins and mods!)
3. Post4VPS (Current! A really nice , decent and friendly forum. Gonna stick here for a good time)

Stay Safe Everyone!
