Well vps hosting is not for everyone. Years back biggest issue was the price but not anymore. You can buy one for cheaper than a shared hosting account. But there are other things which makes Shared hosting is better for some users.

Like for someone like a business owner who just want his site hosted in a secure place with good support. Or affiliate marketer who prefer to focus on this work rather than spending time with hosting related technical stuff etc.

When it comes to Shared Hosting, Server security and maintenance taken cared by the provider. So you don't have to keep an eye on these stuff. You can use that time to develop your business. Even if you out grow your shared hosting account then you can move to a managed vps if your business is profitable enough. Plus you get to use cPanel in almost all shared hosting packages which is more advance and lot easier to use than all free control panels out there.

I have several vps which I run by my self but my most important sites and clients sites are hosted in a Knownhost managed vps. They do have specilized people there who know about servers better than by self. So I don't have to worry about anything apart from taking backups.

yes vps is not for everyone . because it is harder to configure even though its give the best flexibility . even my first website is host on shared hosting because well it is easier and just work . and yes price is also the problem . even though i say some vps already cheaper but if you compare most of famous shared hosting have unlimited fair use bandwidht and also unlimited fair use disk space . that mean that you dont really need to worry about space but you cannot make file hosting with it because it is against the fair use . bandwidth also cannot be used for illegal project like for example ddosing

and also i see the cPanel alternative and most of them doesnt have the familiarity and so if i win the vps from this forum (post4vps) i will host my website without any control panel with it because i dont see any cPanel alternative that is easy to use because i see the ui is rather confusing (except kloxo . but kloxo is already dead so i dont think i will use that because of security reason. kloxo is the nearest to cPanel in term of familiarity and ui) . i will just install LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL and PHP) for my server and that its .

for backup i think you can just set cron jobs to backup or maybe use a backup program or something like that

You should try Kloxo-MR which is very much alive and kicking. Also it's much better than old Kloxo security wise.

yeah . i already saw it and its actually a bug fixed and more newer version of kloxo made by community . so bassically it is just a forked kloxo

but in this time i still thinking to not use any control panel and maybe i will use it if ineed to but im not planning to use my vps as public host anyway

IMHO don't get rush through things, web hosting and domains can well lets say "easy to get" there were lots of free web hosting in the web and for domain you can use .tk or use sub domains since it's just for fun or better if you learn creating and building your website using your VPS. What really important is mainly focus on your SAMP SERVER do all necessary things first build it up.

These days you can get several vps for nearly free from all these free vps provider sites. I said nearly free because it's not like totally free. You have to give something in return by staying active in forums and also giving backlinks but it's still better than paying for these.

Good thing is you can use one as a test server learn about Linux and Web Servers. Also to learn about Web Hosting control panels. Even if you have no interest in getting technical with all these server stuff still it would give you idea how to manage your server.

The problem with free domain and hosting is that, they could vanish one day, get blacklisted, or have your account suspended. The worst part is, you cannot do anything at all in such a scenario. You are perfectly at the mercy of the provider.

If you still want to buy free domain then you can check these domains .tk, .ga, .ml, .cf and more. taking free hosting is also a good plan but services of free hosting is not as proper as paid hosting plans. So if you only want to test server the you can go with free hosting plan otherwise its better if you will go with paid hosting plan.

for hosting i reccomend getting a free vps and host the web on that free vps . this worked much much better than free hosting even better than paid shared hosting . this site is the example where you can get a free vps . i host all my sites on a vps and i dont need a shared hosting anymore

I agree, it's better to host our website inside our VPS. We can do what we want to as long as it's not breaking any law that applies to the VPS provider.
If I get a VPS here, I will move all of my hosted website to my VPS, it made me easier to control my hosting.

Hello there, well i've been around for a while and i currently started a samp server, for fun , im trying to check for a webhosting i mean a domain maybe anyone of you can help me find something maybe, my country doesnt allow me to pay throught paypal or credit bank since im not 18 y/o yet ,Does anyone know a free domain hoster like .com/net/org anything not just .freeforum.com etc?
Im kinda new to VPS and learning things but if i get a VPS im able to host anything on it like , websites, game servers and other things ?Cuz if i can host website that would be fucking awsome.Thanks to anyone who helps me out.

If you are student, you can get some good tld domain names for free, you just need some document to show them. Just Google and you can find some kind providers offering you domain names. If you are looking just to host website, you can find lots of free hosting providers. But if you are looking to run something more, then meet the requirements to earn a VPS here.
