I'm stilling using old fashioned Hard Disks. Since my Desktop is about 4 years old Core2 Quad I don't think I can utilize a SSD drive to max. I do have a 32GB one which I bought while ago and I didn't see much improvement in speed wise. Specially it won't do much speed improvement when you need to relay on a secondary HDD for your data.

If you are talking about desktops I bought SSD few months ago and I see a lot of improvement in Windows startup. On vps with big databases its big difference when you use ssd rather than hdd.

SSDs are actually good for personal computers, since in VPS sometimes storage is very important, and startup time doesn't matter too much at all. Though for own PC it is a good choice.

Well Im more interested in how fast it get when I work rather than when it starts. I don't mind it take 50 seconds or 1 minute for bootup. But it matters if it save files faster and open files faster. I didn't see improvement in these things.

It also depend on how fast your ssd is and is it full. When you work with big files you should see improvement if your ssd works properly.

But when there's storage issue then it is pretty useless.

SSDs main advantage is their access time which is important for large amount of small files. For large files they are still better, but not that much. And the limit is the SATA interface.

SSD is always better than HDD in performance.. its will be give you good experience

ssd = mysql and speed depended applications.

yes. but depends what ssd you have i ever had a ssd that was worse then an 4 year old hdd.
