well i have use nixstats.com only to monitor my VPS weekly so they mail me weekly.
about Uptimerobot.com i'm using it as uptime status check it out here status.pirateshosting.com

Nixstats monitor your VPS for uptime also? and Uptimerobot only for your website? but isnt your website is hosted in your VPS? or in other web hosting?

Nixstats monitor my VPS and report me daily. on Uptimerobot there is 4 types option for monitor. (Ping, HTTP, Keywords and port).

Uptimerobot monitoring my website with "http" types and VPSes with ping. same with Nixstats i think i only used it for 1 VPS.

Thanks for your Aweasome Tutorial, but on my opionion UptimeRobot is alot better than NixStats as it Provides Free UDP/TCP Monitoring Services With a Delay Time of 5-* Minutes(Depends on your Plan), and it supports the feature of Customizing your Status Page and alot more....

For real, nix stats sends you weekly reports about every monitored server with the uptime percentage, also its not bad at monitoring.
