huuthi95 I'm curious - are these apps free, or has one to pay for them? With MacBook and iphone looks as though Apple likes to charge for most apps?

Your mac is always and will be slower every update . Planned obsolecense aside those productivity booster tools probably great but i never try them because i use linux instead of mac
You're so right about this. I'd say in most cases when Apple upgrades its OS, then the older models suffer because the OS seems to be fixed on upgraded specs that have a slow down effect on older models. So maybe all of the apps suggested in this thread may be good for an up to date new MacBook, but may have a dragging effect on older models, depending on how the laptop is used.
For example, in September I bought a second hand Apple iPhone 6S 64 bit to once and for all test whether Apple is better than Android and Samsung. I also purchased a second hand Samsung Galaxy S7 and the comparison speed wise between the two is huge. I can imagine at the time when this Apple model was new, the difference between these two models wouldn't have been as big, but right now the Apple OS and the battery that it has to work with in older model Apples has a slow down effect on the older models. I proved it to myself. I did avail of the Apple special offer to test the battery and have it replaced for free. The new battery didn't make a difference that much. Apple forces you to upgrade. I wouldn't recommend anyone to purchase a second hand Apple. Rather upgrade as Apple at least provides a way in most big cities where one can take one's old phone in and upgrade it. I think I'm going to sell this Apple instead. I'm not interested in owning an expensive Apple iphone. Nor an Apple Macbook.
I'd imagine what goes for iphone also goes for macbook. When Apple upgrades the older macbook OS, it is not as protective of the effect it will have on the older model specs. Apple says it's not doing it as a marketing strategy, but I'm not so sure I can believe them, not after my experience with an older model of theirs.
Samsung Galaxy S7 in comparison however performed very fast. Noticeably so. I'm not 100% for Android, but between the two - Apple and Android and Samsung Android and Samsung stand head and shoulders over Apple and iOS for me. If you're into Apple you have to be wealthy so you can afford to always have the latest model and OS - so I guess indirectly it's mostly for your very wealthy professionals. Windows is not as good as Apple OS always, but at least I can use my hardware for much longer without a noticeable slow down on it. Windows 7 still works OK on my desktop. For now anyway. Also I can get many free apps for my desktop with Mozilla Firefox. From what I've heard Apple likes to charge one for its apps - it both forces people to use only its apps and gets one to pay for them.
LOVE FOR ALL
