I want to learn Programming .
#21
Do not learn Java or C/C++/C# first. Their syntax is kind of complex and not good for beginners. You should probably learn Python first - it's both simple and powerful.

I would start with C++ or python; then if you enjoy it transition to learning a more popular language like Java or javascript, go, etc.

Thanks in advance.

The OP dates back to Nov. 2015, thus I would presume that if its author was serious about learning programming he should by now be at an advanced level of whatever language he's chosen.

Anyway, for anybody else, asking the same question nowadays, I would suggest JavaScript AND/OR Python. Both are easy to learn and of strategic importance in Web development and Academia, respectively.

You can start with your programming adventure which soon can become your career on SOLOLEARN.....
Whenever I get time I login into this site to learn some programming languages (c++, python)

You should start from: C++
Then Python
Then you will become somewhat versatile and be able to think which direction you have to go Wink

Thanks in advance.

I would suggest you start off with Java programming by downloading a free IDE such as Eclipse. Then try to actually build a website based on Java language. It is not easy but that process will teach you a lot not only about programming but also actually setting up the configuration and various other things which you will need to master anyway.

You can host the Java based website on a small VPS. You can do this with PHP or Python as well but I would suggest Java primarily since it is object oriented and will provide you the learning you need in terms of that.

Learning Java or C/C++/C# first is not as bad as you thought.

Although pure C may be a bit more complex for some beginners, java, C++ or C# is good for them.

So you can still consider learning java, C++ or C# which are much more simple first, and then C. Smile

Well I would suggest to everyone if someone want to learn programming start with a language like Python for start as it is very simple and easy to learn and with time learning C++, Java, C won't be a hard thing.
But programming is all about practice just watching videos and reading about it wont help much.
