Strange issue while opening Office softwares
#1
Video
In our computer lab we can not open microsoft office softwares such as powerpoint as a local user, while in administrator account they are opening well.
Here is the error message :
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\POWERPNT.EXE
Windows cannot access the specified device , path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
I searched in google and couldn't get an apt solution,  do you have any such experience?

Thank you  Sweet

from that message, I would suggest you to search on google what the default permissions are.
and set that back to normal.

also if you see such a message I would suggest you run a virus scan.
permissions changes are not normally to be set automatically.

I had an issue with my Microsoft Word at home - all other Microsoft packages worked except Word wouldn't allow me to get the edit page and all the tools and ribbon were gone.  After some research I found a way by going into cpanel/programs and features/microsoftoffice  Then click on Microsoft Office so it is highlighted in the list of programs, and on the top of the list of programs window it comes up with options including "change".  Select "change" and it will then give you the "repair" option.  That fixed it for me.

Is there any other solution to this problem,

then try to run the installation again and use the repair function.
or else do you get any error codes? where we can search specific for?

Does this happen only for MS Office applications or it happens for other software too ? Definitely some sort of permission problem. Also are you talking about standalone computer or is it part of computer connected to a network ?

Probably MS Office is set up in administration account using "Me only" option as users. I guess the option doesn't appear anymore in recent Office versions. Still setting permissions can solve it

Yes. This is usually the most common season. I didn't mention it before because I thought  OP know it and might not be the cause but I think you are right. This might be the problem.

The me only option is probably the cause . And unfortunately i think you need to reinstall it with all user instead
