BandWidth Monitoring Software for Home PC
#1
I want to check my bandwidth usage in details incoming and outgoing if it's possible site wise ? Do you guys know any good tools for this ? Preferably free but any trail versions are fine too. It seems somethings not right about usage.
I want to find out who's the culprit ) Only I use the router and Wi Fi pretty well password protected. I don't think anyone stealing from it. So it has to be a software or a website I use.

The software you are asking for would tell you how much your computer is using but not what all the other connected devices are up to. If you want that:
- NetSpeedMonitor: https://www.filecroco.com/download-netspeedmonitor/ (for Installation on Windows 8 and above use the Windows MSI compatibility mode)
- NetBalancer: https://netbalancer.com/

NetBalancer is most likely what you are looking for. The free version is enough to figure out what is using the traffic. It would be even enough to throttle the process(es) that use all the traffic.

Software. Uhm. If the bandwidth stealer is another connected client... you are aware that in order to find out who is using all the traffic you need a vector point where all this traffic passes through and where you can see who is causing this traffic and how much? That would be your router/modem. If it has no such feature and there is no custom firmware that has this features you can forget about it. Well protected WiFi - no such thing exists. WiFi is broken by design through many different holes that probably are still open on millions of devices because the people who made them never published fixes through firmware updates.

You can or better should use vnstat in this case. If needed it even has several frontends like a PHP frontend that will have graphs and everything of the usage in different time periods like daily, weekly, monthly and etc.

https://www.howtoforge.com/tutorial/vnst...ng-ubuntu/ (pretty much applying to any Ubuntu/Debian based distribution and can be easily converted for other OSs as the only part that would be different is the package installation part)

@xdude have you considered looking into NetBalancer? The way the program works and looks it is exactly what you are looking for. It shows bandwidth usage for all processes, you can throttle processes or even your system as a whole. The free version is probably enough for what you want to do. I have been using it to throttle my system as a whole when downloading but wanting to leave some bandwidth left for other users of the network to watch Youtube and etc. Worked well.

I already use Nagios for Network monitors on my Computer!
Because not only to monitor it, it can also analyze the network on my computer!
It is very helpful for those who like to experience slow internet because of software that takes up background data

that software function as same as netlimiter . and for that 'some other users' making a throtling on the router level is also an option you can thorttle the client based on ip or mac address depending on how advanced your router is . and also netbalancer or limiter cannot limit other people speed just you so using a router for that case is better option but netbalancer is easier because after reading it again you only thorttle it when you download so it is much convinient that go to router every time to do the download . most downloader like FDM , IDM or even utorrent have built in speed limit

I have been testing NetBalancer which was recommended by @HiddenRefuge in last couple of days. I'm quite happy with the result. I couldn't get stats per website but I have been testing each site for a time period to see how much bandwidth these sites taking. Facebook seems to take a lot. Like I noticed it usually take about 100MB in 30 minutes! Also a Browser game I play. It takes about 50-75MB every-time It's loaded. Also some of the social media sites like Twitter, Pinterest etc.
