Well, when we talk about longer-term reliability, a difference of several degrees can affect the actual lifetime a lot.

But yes, all depends on how you use your CPU. If you could ensure you never hit the maximum allowed temperatures, both IBM and AMD CPUs should work fine for you.
I doubt that the AMD CPU is the one which broke.

If you care about long term reliability, (as said before) you shouldn't let it reach maximum temps. Higher temps and reliability doesn't really add up.
The small difference in temperature shouldn't matter at normal operating temps.

This is about CPUs.
Also not every Intel chip will contain AMD graphics. It's only for specific notebooks.

Some desktop computer do come with both processors but they don't combine their processors all the time.

If my memory is correct, the system had all symptoms of a faulty CPU. I would doubt the AMD CPU was not the one which broke.

Honestly, I think this thread is about AMD vs IBM. So, it was worth pointing out the temperature threshold difference here to let other users decide if they go for AMD or IBM, especially for those might not be able to always keep running at relatively lower operating temperature.

I have used AMD in past but i didnt liked it and still i am using amd but its not good many people suggested me to use Intel and i also used my friend intel i liked it too much

AMD processor is good for gaming, about the specs and all that stuff then it depends on your budget and usage. I would say geforce 700+ gpu with an amd processor.

People use Intel because many people use it. It really depends on what the population is using.
