  • Kalifornia / 1993 / USA / 6.7 of 10 Rating on IMDb
  • The Devil's Own / 1997 / USA / 6.2 of 10 Rating on IMDb
  • The Town / 2010 / USA / 7.5 of 10 Rating on IMDb
  • Sling Blade / 1996 / USA / 8.0 of 10 Rating on IMDb

The first two movies were kind of average you could say but with some interesting aspects. Well, I can only say Brad Pitt played his roles very well. Nontheless Kalifornia felt a bit like a trashy movie with a lineup of big stars. The end of the Devil's Own was easy to predict at some point. Big shoutout to the two hotties Michelle Forbes and Natasha McElhone. Both were absolute beauties in the movies.

The Town was an interesting movie about bank heists. For years I have seen scenes out of it all over the Internet...was never able to identify the movie. Out of the blue I found it a week ago and watched it today. It was great but a bit too long with some rather boring or less interesting scenes. Rebecca Hall also a really beautiful woman.

Sling Blade was a really great movie with one of my favorite actors Billy Bob Thornton. I barely recognized him. He played his role so well. The story is very interesting. Very well deserved score of 8 out of 10.

  • LX 2048 / 2020 / USA / 4.7 of 10 Rating on IMDb
  • Accident / 2009 / HK / 6.6 of 10 Rating on IMDb
  • Running Scared / 2006 / USA / 7.4 of 10 Rating on IMDb
  • The Cloverfield Paradox / 2018 / USA / 5.5 of 10 on IMDb

LX 2048 was a rather disappointing movie. When I got it to watch it was pretty new and had only a few reviews giving it a higher score of above 6.0 of 10. I watched it many weeks later and now more reviews are online and the score dropped to 4.7. I guess well deserved because it was kind of boring. Although I have to admit that the subject seems rather interesting.

Accident is one of those Hong Kong movies about something criminal always going on. In that case it was about a gang that are hitman for hire. They create accident like situations that cause the death of their target... thus giving no information like finger prints, DNA or anything else to the police. It always looks like a genuine and unfortune accident. One of the contracts went wrong due to mistakes made and the story took a bad turn for the whole crew. It is a really interesting movie and if you like Chinese movies it is worth to watch it once at least.

Running Scared is a great movie with Paul Walker. It is now 14 years old but is still great. This is actually a rewatch because I have seen it long ago on TV and after that at some point on Netflix (it is not longer available there).

The Cloverfield Paradox was a movie I watched due to it being part of the Cloverfield movie series. Well, sadly it wasn't that good as the original Cloverfield or 10 Cloverfield Lane.

  • Gotti / 1996 / USA / 7.2 of 10 Rating on IMDb

Gotti is one of the greatest movies about the Mafia and John Gotti. You should watch it. It's up there with Godfather and many other Mafia movies.

You can watch it for free in HD on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zh-xHOtURxc (English Audio ONLY!)
Yesterday i watched a horror movie "Curse of Chunky" a quit old movie releases in 2013. a sequel of Child play.

IMDb rating 5.6/10

Main theme is same as a creepy Doll has evil powers.
The Last movie i watched was IT Chapter Two, Which was fairly not a good movie i would say. The first chapter was more horror than this one actually and the ending was just "NAAAAAAAAAAY". I would give that movie a 6/10, Fairly due to the ending.
Watched Red 2, probbly for the 3rd or 4th time. Red and Red 2 movie are my favorite action comedies. I can't think of any other better series than this when it comes Action Comedy genre. Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Lee Byung-hun, Anthony Hopkins, and Helen Mirren, all these guys make the movie something beyond amazing. I think some fans were not happy about the second movie because its more action and less comedy than the first movie. But I found it quite entertaining. There are talks about a 3rd movie and even about a TV series but none of those have happned. I really hope they will do either or both. I would give this movie 8/10.
Watched the movie "The Legend of Bhagat Singh" a couple days ago.

This is a Bollywood movie starring Ajay Devgan in the lead role as Bhagat Singh. This movie portrays the struggle of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh and his comrades who selflessly laid down their lives for the motherland.

One thing I particularly like about the movie, and the reason why this is in a separate paragraph, is that the events or the sequence are exaggerated. The movie is based on facts and follows chronological order of events without any manipulation.

A straight 9.5/10 from me, a must watch for a deeper dive into history of country and the independence struggle.

  • Afro Samurai: Resurrection / 2009 / USA / 7.2 of 10 Rating on IMDb

A Anime movie this time. To understand this you obviously have to see the main series of Afro Samurai. This movie could basically be called season two. It's as great as the main series. As crazy... Samurai fights and a lot of hiphop / rap music.

  • South Park: The Pandemic Special / 2020 / USA / 8.6 of 10 Rating on IMDb
  • Raging Bull / 1980 / USA / 8.2 of 10 Rating on IMDb

South Park released a 45 minute special movie episode as the beginning of the 24th season called "The Pandemic Special". It obviously is about the COVID-19 pandemic taking place in the fictive world of South Park. If you are a fan of South Park you should watch it. It's crazy and funny.

Raging Bull is a 40 year old movie with the quite young Robert De Niro. He is playing a professional boxer. Great movie and acting. I watched the new HD version but still with original mono coloring and mono audio. Awesome classic.
Love and Monsters (2020). It's a Monsterpocalypse movie and apocalypse movies are not one of my favorite genres. But after watching a few parts of the movie on FB thought it's good enough to enjoy it. Well, the main character didn't get what he wanted in end but yet it's a movie with a happy ending. Even the ending a little bit reminds me of Terminator movie where John corner calling everyone.

It's a family-friendly decent movie to watch. I would give it 7/10.
My weekend movie is "24 hours to live" old releases in 2017. full action and thrill movie.
IMDb rating is 5.8
Story of a brave C.I.A man.
Recently I watched on TV a very old animation movie: Sharktale. It has been a very nice experiece because you could see the improvements over the years on animation movies. The CGI was "old" but was nice to see. The plot is childish... but we are talking about a 2004 animation movie from DreamWorks.
Here the plot from wikipedia:
Code:
In the Southside Reef, a lowly bluestreak cleaner wrasse named Oscar fantasizes about being rich and famous. Soon after arriving for work at the Whale Wash, he is called to the office of his boss, a pufferfish named Sykes, to discuss the fact that he owes a large sum of money and must pay it back by the next day. He remembers being humiliated as a child because his father was a tongue scrubber, so his angelfish friend, Angie, offers him a shiny pink pearl that was a gift from her grandmother to pawn and pay his debt. Oscar brings the money to the race track to meet Sykes, but hears that the race is rigged and bets it all on a seahorse named "Lucky Day". A lionfish named Lola sees this and flagrantly seduces an excited Oscar. Sykes is annoyed that Oscar bet the money but agrees to see how the race turns out. Moments before Lucky Day crosses the finish line, he trips and loses.

Meanwhile, a family of criminally-inclined sharks which has associates such as killer whales, swordfish, and octopuses has a problem with one of their sons, Lenny, who is a vegetarian and refuses to act the part of a killer. His crime lord father, Don Edward Lino, orders his violent eldest son, Frankie, to mentor his brother in the family business. Frankie sees Oscar left for dead in the middle of the ocean by Sykes' two jellyfish henchmen, Ernie and Bernie, and urges Lenny to eat Oscar, but Lenny instead frees Oscar and tells him to escape. Furious, Frankie charges at Oscar, but suddenly an anchor falls on his head, killing him. Devastated and frightened over his brother's demise, Lenny flees. As there were no other witnesses and Oscar was seen near the body, everyone in the reef comes to believe that he killed Frankie, an opportunity that Oscar decides to exploit for fame.

Oscar returns to the reef with a new title of "Sharkslayer". Sykes becomes his manager and Oscar moves to the "top of the reef" to live in luxury. At the same time, Don Lino has everyone search for Lenny. When several sharks approach Oscar's neighborhood, his neighbors expect him to drive them away so he goes, after hiding behind Lola and encounters Lenny. Since he does not wish to return home, Lenny begs Oscar to let him stay at Oscar's house. Soon, Angie finds out about Oscar's lie and threatens to tell everyone. Oscar and Lenny stage an event in which Lenny pretends to terrorize the town and Oscar defeats him. Though this further cements Oscar's reputation and causes the beautiful but vindictive lionfish Lola to become his girlfriend, it infuriates Don Lino. Afterwards, Oscar and an angered Angie get into an argument, where she reveals that she had feelings for Oscar even before he became the "Sharkslayer", causing Oscar to dump Lola and reflect on the consequences of his selfishness. Lola then beats Oscar up.

Soon, Oscar buys some gifts for Angie, only to discover that Don Lino has kidnapped her to stage a meeting. Lenny attends disguised as a dolphin named Sebastian. Don Lino threatens to eat Angie if Oscar does not comply. Lenny grabs Angie into his mouth, but then regurgitates her and unintentionally reveals himself in front of everyone. Enraged, Don Lino chases Oscar through the reef. Oscar heads for the Whale Wash and ends up trapping Don Lino and accidentally trapping Lenny in the machinery. Oscar is given an ovation by everyone, but he finally confesses the truth behind Frankie's death. He then tells Don Lino that everyone likes Lenny for who he is and urges him to respect everyone's individual choices. Inspired by Oscar's confession, Don Lino reconciles with his son accepting him for who he is and states that he and his gang bear the city no ill will. Oscar forsakes all the wealth he has acquired, makes peace with the sharks, becomes co-manager of the Whale Wash, now frequented by sharks, killer whales, and swordfish, and lives happily ever after with Angie.

In the mid-credits, Lola shows up at Oscar's apartment to apologize only to encounter Crazy Joe, Oscar's eccentric hermit crab neighbor.
I have recently saw an japanase animation movie called 'Ride your wave', it was a nice movie, nothing special but it took me 2h without boring me!
The plot is the following:
Quote:19-year-old Hinako Mukaimizu moves to an oceanside town to attend college and indulge in her hobby, surfing, without much thought to her future. When her new apartment catches on fire from fireworks, she is rescued by Minato Hinageshi, a 21-year-old firefighter with a strong sense of justice. Hinako is drawn to his capable personality, and they bond when he begins learning how to surf. As the two spend time together, they fall in love. However, after Hinako tells Minato that waves are the best to surf in during the winter storm, he goes surfing during the storm and drowns while rescuing a jetskiier.

Hinako is distraught by his death and moves to an apartment away from the beach. One day, she finds out that he appears in water whenever she sings "Brand New Story", a song the two of them often sang together. While the others are unable to see him, Hinako and Minato spend time with each other again, even in public. However, Minato is reminded of his own mortality after realizing he cannot physically touch Hinako and when his co-worker, Wasabi, confesses to her. He tells Hinako that she must learn to move on with her life, but Hinako refuses to accept this. However, she realizes she is too reliant on him after she stops him from ascending to heaven.

When Hinako goes to pay her respects at Minato's house, his sister Yōko tells her what inspired Minato to become a hardworking firefighter. Hinako discovers she was the person who saved Minato from drowning when they were younger, and when she unlocks his phone, she reads his drafted text message telling her to "ride her own wave". She enrolls in a lifeguard training course, hoping to eventually stop being dependent on Minato. Meanwhile, Yōko confesses to Wasabi, reminding him that he had inspired her to return to school when she was bullied.

At her part-time job, Yōko overhears the same group that set off the previous fireworks planning to do so at an abandoned building housing a large Christmas tree. Hinako accompanies her as they tail the group to collect evidence. The fireworks cause building and tree to catch on fire, and Hinako and an injured Yōko are stuck at the top. Hinako calls upon Minato, who sends a wave of water up the building, extinguishing the fire. Hinako puts Yōko on a backboard and rides it like a surfboard down the wave. After exchanging final farewells with Yōko, Wasabi and Hinako, Minato's spirit ascends to heaven.

The next Christmas, Hinako, Yōko and Wasabi, the latter two now dating, visit the Chiba Port Tower to celebrate Hinako receiving her lifeguard certification. After when Yōko and Wasabi leave, Hinako sings to a fountain, but Minato does not appear and she signs in sadness; then, the tower reads a message he had written for her the previous year and Hinako falls down into the fountains and cries. Afterwards, Hinako resumes her lifeguard duties and confidently continues surfing at the beach again.
