I didn't get the update yet so i cant confirm it but in miui 9/10/11 there is ads.
About mi 10, if its listed in the link i shared with Manal above then the phone will get the update.

I hate ads in miui too but these ads will never be a reason to leave xiaomi and choose a Huawei phone (i like Huawei but i feel that xiaomi is more responsive)
And about the battery mode, in MIUI 12 they added powerful battery saving or I don't know whats its name but in Huawei the mode gives a simple black screen with some icons like call/messages because its a battery saver
