Windows 10 already comes with a decent free Antivirus onboard called Windows Defender. It has matured a lot during the past years and has become very good. Good enough to land in top lists of several Antivirus testing reports.

No additional installation of software required as it is a core component of Windows. You can set things up properly. And with the last versions it integrates Antimalware, Antiransomware and actually also implements the Windows firewall as "Windows Defender Firewall".

No need to spend money on anything. Common sense together with Windows Defender, security and bug fix updates are worth more than paid software. Imho.

Agreed. And for those still with the old Windows 7, one can download Microsoft Security Essentials for free (Windows 7 doesn't come with Defender). Microsoft has a very good database with virus and spyware definitions - I remember a year or 2 ago when I read a review Microsoft Defender and Essentials were listed near the top with Kaspersky and the other big anti-virus names. But yes, I guess common sense is probably even more important and to always resist clicking on a link that doesn't make a 100% sense. I find that when I'm doing research, when it gets to the second page of links, one has to be doubly careful where one clicks. Facebook can also contain traps in links.

@Kururin I don't use plugins bro, since plugins can be used to gather some information too, we can't even tell.

@NomadicSingularityArray that is why mostly of the users now use Windows 10, because of it but ofcourse it is the latest OS of windows and more security patch are into it.

Self-protection is more important in some case, an add-on antivirus software may slow down the computer, I do not use much antivirus than the inbuilt Windows Defender in my PC, if I install, the pc will become slow. External antivirus software also keep installing the add-ons which may be an extra burden.

Those are trusted by millions and Privacy Badger is made by EFF (electronic frontier front) who is a non-profit that fights for privacy related issues

When using windows i rarely use antivirus because of performance impact and for me most of the time i can distinguish beetwen virus or not

But antivirus is reccomended or a must in most situation because that is another layer of protection

Quickheal and bitdefender both are the best choice and mostly on top rank anti viruses of the year. but it will be hard to get it in patch or crack. you can only way to use it by buy it. if they have official services in the country.
