I do recommend putting your game server on a vote site. Then you should start advertising on other servers to attract players.
An attractive site and a trailer for your game is a must!

Well, First of all you choose the best host to host your server on it
i prefer you SSD VPS! they are really good for gaming servers.
for players for rush
You can use Gametracker.com Gametracker.rs etc etc to show your server in the world
Ofcourse you need to advertise the ip of your server so people will know about your server and give a try to play on it!
Remember if you add models mods so please make a Fast DL link so it will not take a much time to download resources...
