you can reinstall just by askin the admin . the response time isnt that long either and i mean you probably didnt reinstall every time . i do it when there are a problem on my vps like the ubuntu 16.04 mysql bug that forces me to reinstall

and by the way the vps is free of charge . you just need to post on this forum and it is actually not that hard and it is actually really fun talking here . so for me vps 9 doesnt have control panel isnt an issue

i dont really mind a control panel . but that is just me . your opinion may be different

Emm, I love a VPS with panel, because, at first, I need to reinstall (when I take the VPS for the first time), a bunch of reinstall. If you don't have any panel, maybe you just bother an admin to reinstall yours XD.
But then, I found something, whenever I ask admin to help me, and the case solved, they give me something like "advice", so then I can learn from it.

I don't really like a VPS without any panel, but yea, if it's VPS 9, then it's ok for me :p.

true . i better have high end vps w/o panel than low end one with panel . because i still can live with panel and it isnt big of a deal . but still you dont get the easy access of rebooting and reinstalling your vps

Nah, that's the problem for me. I don't have "freedom" to reinstall my VPS. That's really a problem. I also don't have option to shut down (something when I don't install anything yet and will not install it for some times, I shut it down).

Since basically the main concern with VPS 9 is the control panel where you can freely reinstall your OS whenever you want. My question is, is there a command that we can use to restore to previous machine state? it is like in windows system restore.

Agreed, Virmach really give the craziest VPS I've ever seen so far. 8GB RAM out there is really and really expensive, virmach it self sell about $12/months and you can get that for free here and just need to make 20 posts every month.

and even if you buy it with your own money $12/m for 8GB VPS is very cheap . lot of other provider costt around $40/m even though that is kvm . for raw performance openvz is slightly better just older kernel

Fixes are backported.
You can use Docker. You just need to request your provider to use VETH instead of VENET.

Not all, Spectre and Meltdown patches are all in 4.x line now. Also many openvz providers don't want to enable it. I tried before asking them.
