Facebook is secured, just don't use the same password that you are using in the games and you will be ok

Thanks for the tip @youssefbasha I've just logged out of the messenger for the first time in a week. Want to refresh my computer - hopefully i'll still be able to get into the messenger again. It's a good way to stay in touch though as the other members of the group use their Facebook accounts regularly. More regularly than the Forum.

BTW do you know where they get their fancy smileys from?  Smile

First experience is always hard and bitter to accept. so keep chatting soon you will be familiar with community and enjoy to use it.

Well this morning early I decided to completely log out of my computer and to shut it down so I can freshen up its RAM and everything. I then logged into Facebook again, and was unable to get the Group Message Windows to come up from the specific Group link that had been created. It just kept turning around all of the time. I Googled the problem, and seems to be an issue that has to be submitted to Facebook. Not something I wanted to do. Eventually after I had clicked around in my page, I noticed a link called groups, and so when I was in the groups Window and then clicked on the Group Link, the Group link worked out this time round. Guess The Group Link isn't that perfect. But for me it is great as it helps me with communication for sure.

I don't think you should worry too much about the security of Facebook messaging system. it should be secure enough for you to leave it open all day. I have many friends using Facebook messaging all days and they have no major issues so far.

I suppose it is more important that your computer itself should be secure, though.

Thanks for the positive feedback #tryp4vps  I've had it open for a few days now, so think it should be OK.  I am worrying about my computer since I'm not up to date with Windows 7 updates - had to roll back the last updates as they were conflicting with my VPN.  I've got MalwareBytes however and it's regularly scanning my computer and so far it's come up clean every time.  Hope this continues.

When it comes to Internet nothing is 100% secure. But in most cases problems happen due to human error. Easy passwords, easy to guess passwords, Key Loggers etc. But if you are using a private computer then it's mostly safe unless you get something like key logger. But it gets worse in other devices like Phones and tabs. Beside technical short comings we have to be careful when we use public wifi as well as keeping Bluetooth enabled.

Also has to make sure logout from everything and remove all private or sensitive date from your device before giving it to a repair person or shop. If you can't then you have to get it repaired infront of you.

Thanks for the feedback @xdude. I've really got nothing on that account I'm worried about as it is an alias anyway. I also don't have the account connected to a phone. I needed a phone to verify it, but after verification and creating the page URL I went back in and removed the phone number. Glad to know however that that could be a vulnerability - makes sense that it would be.

it is safe as you keep safe of your password becauses how hard facebook encrypting your message your message still can be viewed by hacker . i reccomend putting 2FA on your facebook account just for extra security

but what making me kinda not believe the encryption is because sometime facebook blocks specific word to detect suspicious activity and the decryption key is probably stored in their server not encrypted with the password

I am not very sure about Facebook but any online messaging is not safe, unless you own the messaging company.
