RE: VPS 6 Review - tiwil - 09-19-2019

Such a nice review from @youssefbasha. Thank you so much!

So basically you're the first user of Bladenode VPS? The speed is disappointing with that benchmark test. That should be only 100Mbit/s port instead of 1Gbit/s as @tryp4vs said.

But overall, a nice review, looking forward for Bladenode clarification about the speed.

If I'm not mistaken, yass you're the first VPS 6 user. So basically you provide us the first review for VPS 6.
It seems some people want to take VPS 6 with such specs but with your review (if you lose or send back the VPS) they might rethink again.

RE: VPS 6 Review - Manal - 09-20-2019

If I'm right, then there are some issues with HR's script for speed test as sometimes mirrors are down or maybe some of the pre-defined mirrors are dead(haven't tried). Try running speedtest-cli.

RE: VPS 6 Review - Mashiro - 09-20-2019

@sohamb03

Well, I think we should just stop going off topic in this thread at least. The bench.sh script issue is not really related to this review.

Your suggestion would work out great usually, but I don't remember which e-mail address I even had at GitHub. I tried a password reset as an example to see what e-mail I could have used. After checking all of my inboxes nothing came to light though. I'm afraid it might have been a mail address on a domain that I no longer own. Probably only I am stupid enough to cancel a domain where I had some impotant e-mail inboxes.

Unfortunately, when performing the password reset or 2FA login I only see a message that says the 2FA code or the password reset instructions have been sent to a masked e-mail address with a @github.com e-mail address. That therefore makes it even harder to find out which domain it could have been. Sadly... So access is truely lost I think. I can't imagine how else they would verify me.

I'm not bothered too much. Everyone with a GitHub account is welcome to fork it and fix issues or add improvements like hundreds of others did. Maybe someone can even make a official Post4VPS fork with fixed speed tests and other improvements (if the community has ideas). Like the official Post4VPS Benchmark Script. How does that sound?

Anyway, enough off topic.

@Manal

Check this two posts please: https://post4vps.com/Thread-VPS-6-Review?pid=30513#pid30513 and https://post4vps.com/Thread-Resources-for-writing-a-review?pid=30512#pid30512. Also he did run speedtest.net CLI speed tests and posted them in the review already.

So a general message from me about my not properly working script. Please just check this thread: https://post4vps.com/Thread-Resources-for-writing-a-review and use resources available there.

You can find a link there that links to many other bench.sh scripts with working speed tests and even more features and such things. This will help you with writing your review, I hope (at least).

Alternatively I guess it would be a great idea if someone could make a official Post4VPS script that can freely be based on my script if necessary.

RE: VPS 6 Review - chanalku91 - 09-21-2019

Perfect review, but I didn't get what I wanted, what about the benchmark score from the processor?

From Port Speed it's very slow!
Can you test it by downloading a file?

Not a bad idea. But I guess another way is perhaps you can kindly create a new Github account, instead of trying to regain ownership of the old one you lost.

I know it is technically offtopic but I am afraid that the next members going to do VPS review will also suffer from the same script issue.

And to be honest, even if we make it the official Post4VPS Benchmark Script, everyone will still call it "HR's script", and will continue to try asking for help from you. Smile

RE: VPS 6 Review - Sn1F3rt - 09-21-2019

@tryp4vps: Just to mention, I was having a discussion on this with HR. Obviously I think he'd like to retain his username and he's trying to get it back via a domain which he'd cancelled. He's trying to reregister it and try to get back to the GitHub team is they could help him restore his account.

Anyways, I'm making a completely new repo for the official Post4VPS Benchmarking Script, as I liked his idea. Probably, I'll be publishing that within a week. This is to fix the WA Softlayer issue as well as other OS non-recognition issues which I'm trying to fix till HR can reclaim his account. All credits to him indeed, and I hope the script I publish will work out for now.

Cheers!
