Cobalt Host VPS 5 review from Post4VPS.com

Introduction
During the 4th giveaway of Post4VPS.com, Dynamo gave me an VPS from package VPS5. I were really thankful since the specs are quite good. Unfortunately the network and the I/O were slow at the beginning. Even too slow to even use it. I now make a review since those are improved now, but I don't know when they are bad again...

Well, the speeds aren't that good. But I don't feel I have to complain about those, since they also aren't that bad.

I/O Speed

Disk Speed
----------

I/O (1st run)   : 8.3 MB/s
I/O (2nd run)   : 37.9 MB/s
I/O (3rd run)   : 40.6 MB/s
Average I/O     : 28.9333 MB/s
Yup, those speeds are still very low...

Control Panel

The control panel of Cobalt Host is quite simple. Actually just like CloudAtCost. Since even the code is very similar I won't be surprised if it's the CAC reseller panel. The looks aren't that good. However it gets the job done!

Suggestions

Fix the I/O and stable up- / downlink.

Final Ratings
The VPS is good enough for testing things. Totally not suitable for running a production environment! Although I would never host an production at a free VPS, but still..

Final Rating 5/10

Special thanks to TrK, since I used his review as a "template" for mine.

Pretty nice review RickB clean and simple hope they will fix your issues shortly. Good work dear. But one thing you publicly not need to display your IP you need to made it hidden or replaced by XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX or just hide some numbers or blocks.

I only showed the first 2 blocks? To verify that they resell CAC servers. You can have your own opinion based on that said.

Nope. I would choose a different server. Cobalt is very bad quality.

That's totally up to you. 1GB must be enough to run a fine installation of Windows when not doing the most intensive tasks, but some more would be nice. Only other thing you have to think of is that the virtualization method is Xen, VMWare or KVM. OpenVZ does not support Windows or BSD.

I can't even get VNC anymore.
