I don't think google will make anything wrong and providing them number is not a big deal.btw you are right we should protect.What will you say about the Miscrosoft account? Why you don't use Miscrosoft?

I have Google, Microsoft, Proton Mail, and Yahoo. I diversify my e-mail accounts. Microsoft is just as problematic, but now a little easier than Google used to be. It used to be the other way round. Google was more logical and easier to sort out when one moved from one region to another. Yahoo is the most relaxed for now after having been very strict for a long while. I don't have that many regional issues any longer with Yahoo. Bottom line, it changes all of the time, depending on their latest policy or security strategy. Probably better to move away from these commercial e-mails.
