I do not have experience with the professional home security systems. But I am posting this to share some ideas with you. I hope you like them.

Use flir or some good ir camera system with motion detection (raspberry pie project ?) and use offsite cc camera backup.

37 CCTVs installed in this house and 10 of them are hidden cameras
I think the thief is professional rather than the host, huh
Because they are able to enter through the front door at night
