Question about Sourceforge Download

i downloaded a package that has a jar extension!

is this file for Ubuntu or Linux?

how is it installed?

please guide me thanks

You must install JAVA
To run files with extensions like that .jar

Are you sure about this? So if I install this software will my problem be fixed in installing this software?

As @chanalku91 said, you must have Java runtime installed to make use of the JAR (Java ARchive) files and the classes it contains.
