i prefer SSD because i have used both and my game server was working great on SSD

that is because some or most game server (correct me if im wrong) read and write a lot to hard drive like world map , player info , database , etc and you think you can use ram ? well sort of because those player data need to be in the hard drive or solid state drive because if you restart your server the data in your rame will be gone because ram is a volitaile memory
