you get those 20k+ login it is because someone try to bruteforce to your server and they know that port 22 is the port for ssh . by changing the port you can get more secure but not 100% secure because if the attacker really want to hack your server so bad they can search for a port but it is still a good protection to change the ssh port

Yes I know, that's why I made this thread to let people know how to protect their VPSes from brute force, Also there's a thread here on the forum explains how to protect your VPS so it would be nice to use both together.
