@TrK Thanks for suggesting aaPanel. I had never heard about that before. I have installed it and testing it right now. From what I have seen so far the biggest difference between aaPanel and Cyberpanel is aaPanel doesn't let you make user accounts like separate hosting accounts. But I don't think its a big deal for those who use VPS for running their own sites. Fewer things to bother about.

There was another panel called Kloxo-MR, a fork of Kloxo panel. I used it long time ago.

Yeah.But they provide APIs so if you don't bother making a separate panel style for your end users you might want to use it for reselling.

Actually there are already projects that achieve this.The project is using BaoTa(local version of aapanel.)See:

And for the reseller here I've heard,they tend to use easypanel(a Chinese PHP web panel that is old,at least from its appearance) for free users and directadmin for paid users

While we're on the topic, does any one know any latest information on the original VestaCP?  I tried to get info at VestaCP Forum, but doesn't look as though the owner of VestaCP is attending to inquiries.  TrK all I know is that we have two VestaCP forks under development, one for debian by one member of staff dpeca, another fork is being developed in Belgium, and then we have HestiaCP, which is separate from the original script - but being developed by a group of the original VestaCP staff.

The Forum of the original VestaCP is still active, and ironically still being attended by Admin who are no longer using the original VestaCP script. They're even cautioning about using it.

@xdude can advise as he's been trying to install CyberPanel on VPS 9, and has been unsuccessful so far.  

I've been using VestaCP since the day I started with VPS 9 in 2018. It's still working great, but I can't recommend it as the original script has not been updated since January of last year. Why I like VestaCP is because of how light and fast it is. You need very few specs to run the panel.

@sohamb03 who also has VPS 9 has been using a fork of VestaCP (from Belgium) very successfully but with CentOS 7.  So if you are interested to use his fork of VestaCP, you will have to change to CentOS 7.

If you want to try VestaCP for Debian specifically, there is another VestaCP fork that is fully up to date that has been created for specific use with Debian. You can check it out here:

The current situation of orig. vestaCP is dire the owner have complete rights over the main repo and the people who are constatnly trying to fix the bugs can only do as much as approving the pull request or making(at least it was when i last bothered to check them) i hhave warned many times earlier about not using the vestacp at all the security loop holes are too many to count(in orig. code) and the lack of update with latest php and environments is just making the situation more worse. The admin or contributor devs tried their best to maintain a security patch schedule at their best but in the end it all just fell into ruin. RIP VestaCP

the centos forked currently used by sohamb and many centos users is MadeITBelgium form available at https://github.com/madeITBelgium/vesta as for hestiaCP i would say i am impressed by the devs of hestiacp they constantly fixing and updating the code to mtch with latest standards and the community is thriving there, i agree there might be bugs here and there but it do what it was meant to.


As for some advance users who are fine with CLI there are countless stacks avaialble to be explored but if you are mainly works with WP you can take a look at wordops it's really a great tool thats comes with dashboard to track the resource usage. As for vps9 failing to install cyberpanel i installed using cyber panel so it might not be the best answer i could provide but for cyberpanel you need a clean server meaning no webserver or db server should be installed on your server also make sure you have removed any pre-installed packages including but not limited to httpd/apache, nginx, mariadb/mysql and/or php, make sure you have epel repo installed and also make sure you are following the "official documentation" for cyberpanel if failed to install again share the logs(ofcourse hide the sensitive info first) and some might help you with that and/or can directly contact me to see if i am free and can do it for you.

Now this is interesting @TrK.  Thanks for recommending this as I was unaware of its existence. May be worth trying out. Only caveat is that installation requires Ubuntu or Debian.  But I guess it would be easy to do it with Debian then.  I'm a CentOS user mostly but have some experience working with Debian as well:

Looks like wordops could be super fast because of nginx.

Thanks for these tips.  I really like CyberPanel and at Gigarocket tried out an end-user CyberPanel Account that was set up by @fitkoh.  He set up the database to run remotely on another VPS, but the two VPSs were on the same node.  It is the fastest hosting account I've ever had.  Fitkoh won both VPSs for a year from RackNerd.  Cyberpanel is intuitive, with many less tools than cpanel, however the tools that aren't there are tools we rarely use in cpanel.  Like cpanel has too many bells and whistles gobbling up plenty of system resources.  CyberPanel is for me a much slimmer, intuitive and more efficient and faster version of cPanel. When I used it for the first time I didn't have to Google any step once. Everything is where it has to be and accessible through right-click lightning fast. Its WordPress installation app is awesome. Like it only asks for four pieces of info then does it in record time including creating the database and database user.
