Linux Desktops are a fine thing. I use mine since 2010. They're just not mainstream enough for a broad interest of infections.
In fact in Ubuntu, for example, it is fairly easy to compromise a standard Linux Desktop and snatch a users's password so a malicious script could sudo itself to install 'never-to-be-discovered'™ root kits which not only will hide themselves effectively from any output, but also will even update themselves to keep disguised in memory.

I am convinced that if a linux system has been infected it is much worse than just a plain old infested windows, which is bad enough alone.

Reading the news about AV Software, I get the creeps. Last highlight: Remote Code Execution in TrendMicro.

As always there's one very important thing to keep in mind:

Security Software is NOT software security!

I don't really install AV due to deleting a false positive file, but recently I'm using Kaspersky AV.

Windows Defender ftw! Here's the deal, I dont want to spend money on anti - viruses, and dont like cracking them, using a cracked AV can get your PC infected too so think before you try one of those Tongue. secondly Windows Defender works pretty well, weekly updates and works almost the same as all other paid AVs
