Which theme do you browse on?
#1
Hey! I've been visiting this forum more frequently in the past few months and it looks like I'm really using a different theme to browse. As we all know, there is an option at the right side bottom of MyBB forums for members to change the theme they use to browse with(it only changes for the member itself).

And it looks like I'm using the "Default" one. The reason behind my usage of 'default' theme is its reliability and I do really find it simple and easy to use Smile

Most people might be using the "New Post4VPS" theme but is there anyone else who is on 'default' or any other theme out of 4(total five but one is for mobile users which is probably MyBB Go).

ofcourse im using the default one. cause the other ones really not to my taste. they either start creating problems on mobiles or not all the bells and whistles are there. i mean all the options and buttons.
Sincere Thanks to VirMach for my VPS9. Also many thanks to Shadow Hosting and cubedata for the experiences I had with their VPSs.

For mobile, I use the default one. I'm talking about Desktop.

Well, It's been over year(s) for me using Post4VPS Custom theme for browsing Forum, as most of the time I surf using a weak network which slows me down with New Post4VPS Theme, but since Post4VPS Custom theme is well optimised, it's currently best suited for me.
I sometimes use New Post4VPS theme too (when I feel my network is strong enough for smoother surf).

I never realized there was much of a difference in the themes content wise until I was editing an announcement the other day and it looked in the preview as though I wasn't going to get the same output - i.e. it looked changed in the preview of the new theme - the theme I was using.  When I fixed it in the theme it was created in, the default theme, it turned out OK in the preview. So that was an interesting learning experience about the themes.

What I also found interesting was that I couldn't see the VPS Packages menu link at the top in the default theme - it was missing in the menu links. So my question to those using the default theme is how do you view the VPS Packages - like where is the link for the VPS Packages in the default theme?

BTW I personally prefer the new theme since I only work with desktop or laptop - I find it a richer experience in overall and looking much more attractive.  I'd like to know though, where do you view the index links like VPS Plans in the default theme?

Bottom line here, how do you know you're not missing content if you're using a theme that is not the owner's current theme?

i just checked the new theme. i think it is quite good ... hmmm

but nope. im back to the default one. i dont need a vps plans link at the top. it is always there in the first post of any giveaway thread. easy peasy.

Yes, I think people have different tastes
Even though my device is a smart phone, I prefer the look of the desktop

OK - that's good to know.  Perhaps we need to add it to the default template too so the VPS Plans link is included in the header index.  Now that we know there are many members using the default theme, possibly we should keep it in mind when anything new is added to the new template.

Edit: Have added the VPS Plans link to the Default Header Menu Links.
