that do-release-upgrade is for upgrading ubuntu.

Hi @rudra.  Sagher has good reason to be fearful as VPS 9 has a not so good history with upgrading Ubuntu. He is speaking from very painful experience. If Ubuntu 14.04 works for him, then he is wise to stick with it.
