The main purpose of interviews is to analyses the communication skill of a person. Interviews usually take place face to face and in person. And telephone interviews are there without visual contact.

Not all the time as there are jobs that communication skills is not really a high priority as they need working "SKILLS" but IMOO the main "CORE" purpose of interview is select who are those individual who has that certain SKILLS for that certain JOB.
