But if i really want doing hack activity i'll more like uses IoT, write script that will do automated tasks like sniff any traffic from specific interface, filter it, and then send the important data to my server, that way more secure for you cause you can leave it but keep having access to it from anywhere. Since nowadays linux IoT's are really tiny, low power, and cheap so you can put it to the hidden place, example on ethernet port behind the victim desktop in your office, no one will realize that unless your victim are techie guy who really care with his network security.
