I -myself- didn't regularly use Kali Linux (just a couple of times), but from my knowledge, I know that it's a penetration testing distro, which means it tests the vulnerabilities on different types of things. I also think people shouldn't be using it for hacking as it's an illegal activity which shouldn't be done anyways. When I used Kali Linux, I noticed that it's just a Debian with GNOME 3 preinstalled together with some packages which can be easily installed.
