I think their expectation is clear. You have to give backlinks as long as you have any website hosted on the sponsored VPS.

In my case I have not hosted any website on my VPS I get from here. But I still give backlinks from a blog hosted elsewhere. It should not be compulsory for my case, and during the conversation perry also replied clearly that it is just a plus to do so.

I still do it just because I want to give something back and show my appreciation. Smile
